Summary

“how can I ever repay you?” honey murmured, his lips quivering from the cold. “just stay at my side, that’s all i could ever want” I cooed in the dark Merchants of the night were known for creeping along the countryside of Britain, and without warning they bestowed you onto my doorstep. You were a gift of noble blood, exchanged for my life as I knew it. However id never regret the evening I first set my eyes on you, no matter what pain knowing your secret brought me. Elliot Kingston, the upcoming successor of the notorious Kingston family is sick of his day to day life. Its 1889 in Britain and the line between high class and poor is drastic. Elliot has no choice but to attend Meetings and parties to build a name for himself, but he'd rather run away and become someone new. The Kingston's have been cheats their entire bloodline, selling drugs, weaponry and even people in the black market, and Elliot wants nothing to do with it. On his 18th birthday he finally decides to escape the mansion but halts at the body of a boy around his age on the doorstep, wrapped in a silk blanket with curly golden hair, tightly clutching his collar in the snow. Elliot saved him that night, and from that day forward "Honey" became indebted to him.

MARTYR

PROLOGUE

I didn't believe in golden gates or six-winged angels, nor did I bat an eye at the mention of demons lurking in the muddy waters of Britain. Superstition was never for me, I couldn't find peace in the idea that someone, or rather something was watching over my shoulder. Patiently waiting for the day I drew my final breathe to decide whether or not I had been holy.

Chapels sent chills down my spine, for righteous punishment seemed to scream from its walls, making me shudder at the thought of being judged. From the pews to the silent statues of our father, it all made me want to weep. The stained glass felt more like a spotlight heavy on my face. Mocking me, reminding me that I could never be redeemed for what I've done, for what my family has done.

I couldn't believe in a higher power because I was afraid, I was petrified of a punishment that would be well deserved. Sitting in churches made my heartbeat rapid enough to send me into shock.

I couldn't find peace there, I would never be able to find peace there.

But even so, watching your limp body drain blood into the snow, not being able to reach you, to hold you, and feel your heartbeat against mine...It made me believe, it made me pray just once that somebody above would save you, anyone, at all. In exchange for your life, I prayed they would take mine, and damn me to whatever hell was awaiting my presence.

If it meant you could live I'd give anything, blood and bone, heart and soul. My lover, all I have ever wanted was for you to be happy.

Please, don't give up on me, Please...look at me, don't leave me here.

I'm so scared of being alone.

Obsidian: He's hilarious. Like, actually. I loved it. You're writing style is great, although you could do with a few less murmurs and mutters. I know it sounds critical, but I have the same problem and I hate it. Overall, it was one of the best stories I've read on here so far. I liked it better than those M...
