Prologue
Fun. People have different views to what fun is. To me, fun was going out to parties and getting drunk. My view of fun was making fun of those who I saw getting kissed by their parents, those who got notes from their lunche bags, or anything related to parents doing good things to their kids.
I didn't get attention from my parents cause my mother died a few years ago and my dad wasn't really at the house, mostly out of the town or to different states. My sister and I thought it was because we looked a lot like Mom. My older brother was out of the country, exploring with his friends. So, I haven't seen him since he left.
The only attention I got were from the people at EastBrooke High but it didn't feel the same as getting attention from your parents. I was normally your typical popular, mean bitch cheerleader with the hottest quarterback football player as my boyfriend.
Then there is my twin sister, Sarah. We did everything together, we were even twinning until middle school. When we were at middle school til high school, Sarah and I barely talked to one another. She didn't really like to be popular and have a lot of attention. She would be nice to everyone and that's what I loved about her. When we were both not busy, we would have a girl's night watching chic flicks on Netflix or we would have small parties at our house only with our closest friends.
But that was then...
My view of fun now was nothing after the big incident in Eastbrooke. Most of the time I would cry in my room every night. After the incident, everything changed. I even changed, I changed my looks, my attitude, and personality. My new look made me feel like my twin sister. During the summer, instead of partying like I used to, I stayed home.
Most of time, I would think about if I had a chance to start over, the day of the incident, then that person wouldn't have died. Sometimes I wish I didn't or I wouldn't be who I am today. The death of the person woke me up from my own world and put me in reality.
From the moment Miles stepped into my town, I felt more bad events were coming in its way. He was so secretive and I wanted to find out why. With Miles, my life was like a rollercoaster, full of twists and turns or up and downs. There were hearts broken on the streets of my town, tears that were shedded, and blood was covered in hands.
From the incident, to my first encounter with Miles, and from that day on. Everything was changing.
