CHAPTER 1: ME

The day after your 11th birthday, was the day you were diagnosed with Epileptic seizers. You haven’t gone to school since then, your parents fearing that your condition would hurt you or others other around you in some way or another. They home-schooled you to the best of their abilities, but as you grew up, your studies became too difficult to teach. Even for your parents.

They would have to send you to school, sooner or later and they’d rather do the latter as they wouldn’t be able to help you study for your upcoming exams, and ultimately aid you in the future. Now you’re seventeen years old and you’re going into your first year at college. You don’t know much, but you do know that this is going to be the farthest that you’ve ever been from your home in your entire life.

Your mum and dad have been arguing for months over this dreadful topic, wondering which decision was the best one for you. Your mum felt as if you were ready to face the real world and the obstacles that it would throw at you, but your father on the other hand didn’t want you out of his sight. Your dad feared that your condition would get to the point where even they couldn’t control it, and he only wanted the best for his baby. Your symptoms have grown worse, from small muscle spasms to full blown body convulsions.

However, you have been looking after yourself very responsibly for several months leading up to this enormous change, even with the increased severity of the symptoms. From regular trips to the hospital, to keeping on track with your medication, to making sure that you are able to handle your episodes on your own. You want to prove that you are able enough to take care of yourself, and that you are responsible enough to go to college. You want to show them that you don’t always need someone to look after you, and that you will be able to look after yourself. Everything is going to be new to you.

The people and the environment. Hopefully everything goes along smoothly, and your episodes will calm down. Ignoring everything that’s already happened to you, you were ready to face the real world and overcome any and every obstacle that came in your way. You were going to be just fine.

Obsidian: He's hilarious. Like, actually. I loved it. You're writing style is great, although you could do with a few less murmurs and mutters. I know it sounds critical, but I have the same problem and I hate it. Overall, it was one of the best stories I've read on here so far. I liked it better than those M...
