Seeking Help
Lock Me Away If You Want To Live
Chapter 1: Seeking Help
As Merida held up her fists readying to fight Emma for the Will O' The Wisp. Emma stepped back before looking at her shaking hands,
"I….. I can't fight you" she said with a trembling voice and Merida smiled,
"Aye…. So ye are scared then lassy" she said amused and Emma nodded,
"You're right… I am scared. Terrified in fact… Just not of you" she told her and Merida raised her eyebrow in confusion before looking towards her pouch that contained the mystical blue flame before looking back at Emma,
"Why do ye need this wee thing lass?" she asked and Emma gulped,
"To get rid of the darkness inside of me" she explained and Merida slowly lowered her fists as she saw both the fear and the sadness in Emma's eyes,
"Please… Help me" Emma begged.
Merida took Emma too Camelot,
"Me friend will be able to help ye….. But that's as much help as I can give ye lassy" she told her firmly as they walked through the castle courtyard that was filled with tents that were occupied by mostly wounded residents. Emma looked around sadly,
"My name's Emma not Lassy" she corrected,
"What happened here?" she asked whilst looking around at the wounded as they kept walking,
"Refugees" Merida confirmed simply,
"Survivors of the ogre attacks. They'll be much more in the castle mark my words" she said as they entered through the castle doors,
"Arther! I got someone fer ye!" she yelled and Emma's eyes widened as she looked at Merida,
"Whoa wait a minute…. Arthur? As in…. King Arthur?" she asked as a man approached them with a charming smile,
"At your service" he confirmed before looking at the curly red head,
"Princess Merida always a pleasure. Still causing trouble with that bow and arrow are you?" he teased and Merida looked unimpressed,
"Call me Princess again and it'll be you I'll be causing trouble for kingy boy" she warned causing Arthur to chuckle as he held his hands up in defence,
"How may I be of assistance?" he asked her and Merida gestured to Emma,
"It's the blond lass who'll be needing your help" she told him and Emma winced and clenched her fists causing candles on the candelabras to ignite due to her anger,
"Don't call me lass. No one else has that right!" she yelled before pulling back and she looked terrified,
"I….. I'm sorry… I'm sorry" she said sadly and Arthur looked confused before looking at Merida,
"Thank you Merida. I'll take it from here" he said and Merida nodded politely before leaving.
Arthur stepped cautiously towards Emma,
"How may I help you?" he asked and Emma looked at him sadly as she had her arms wrapped around herself,
"You're King Arthur right?" she asked and he nodded,
"That is correct and you are?" he asked and Emma sighed,
"Emma… My name is Emma and I need to speak to Merlin" she said firmly and Arthur's eyes widened,
"Merlin?" he asked and Emma nodded as she winced once more,
"Yes Merlin. I need to see him right away….. When Merida said your name I could hardly believe my luck but please… I'm begging you I need to see Merlin right away" she begged and Arthur looked at her sadly,
"I….. I'm truly sorry Miss Emma but I'm afraid Merlin has not been within the walls of Camelot for many years. I haven't seen him since I was a boy" he explained and Emma looked down hopelessly before wincing again and she had to use the wall beside her for support and Arthur tried to assist her but she held out her hand to stop him and he looked concerned,
"What's wrong?" he asked and Emma was practically shaking as she looked at him and he could swear her very eyes were shaking, but also changing,
"Ever heard of the dark one?" Emma asked and Arthur nodded with a confused expression,
"Of course. A mere Bedtime story to get children to behave" he reasoned which made Emma laugh humourlessly,
"Well you're gonna see that particular 'bedtime story' at its worse if you don't lock me away right now" she told him firmly and He looked at her stunned,
"I don't understand… You haven't done anything wrong" he said and Emma or the thing inside of her glared at Arthur,
"Pathetic fool!" she roared before wincing again and she looked at him hopelessly,
"Please…. Just listen to me" she begged,
"If you don't lock me away then millions of people are going to die" she warned,
"I'm telling you now King Arthur," she warned before her eyes turned cold and the corner of her lip lifted into a smirk,
"Lock me away if you want to live"
