I Want To LIve

"This is a must read! The story flows well, The plot is pertinent to current events such as a struggling single mom, the issues of the # Me Too movement., homelessness and the "unseen" members of our society, and issues of our returning veterans. Also felt that the action played well with twists in the story in regards to Katie's intended adoptive couple and their "secret life", a kidnapping, the "fine upstanding citizen" who built substandard housing, encouraged gambling addiction, and cared only for what benefitted him. Overall, the characters were well rounded. Joyce, you could perhaps have the construction timetables more believable by extending it...just a thought. Also, Katie seemed to be a character of extremes with her reactions to adverse events in her life. If this is intentional to show a complex heroine, then well done! The intertwining of relationships in the story of the main characters was fascinating and at times, makes the reader( at least this one!) wistful for similar people in my life. Also, I was impressed by how this story shows the truths of faith and concern for our fellow man as a higher calling for us to strive towards."

Great

"A lot of topical issues covered in the first few chapters. Would like more punishment for the rapist. Adam is written adorably I want to bring him home. I so wished for romance at the end but when think about quite like the fact that she has all the time in the world. Well worth the read."
