Late Night
"So, you are going to miss the biggest party ever for books??" My best friend, Katy gasped. I rolled my eyes and sighed.
"No, I'm missing the 'Biggest party ever' to catch up with my studying. My grades are slipping. You know how my mum is like" I explained.
"Ok.. Fine," she sighed in annoyance. "But you have to make it up to me by going shopping next week. You cant refuse!" She said. I laughed: "Ok fine, Kat".
"Yes!. You are the bestest friend ever!!" She screamed in excitement and hugged me.
"Oooh, What is this excitement about?" A voice asked. Aaron.
"Oh nothing.." I replied
"Really?. It sounds like Katy is planning a shopping spree" He said, raising an eyebrow.
"Spot on, Babe" Katy smiled as she gave him a little peck on the cheek. I frowned at the gesture as jealously built up within me.
I have a crush on Aaron. I know having a crush on your best friends boyfriend is bad but I honestly can't help it. I put my feelings aside for my best friend. We all have been friends for years. It would be wrong of me to take him away from her. My thoughts were interrupted by the bell.
"You hear that?. The sweet sound of home time" Katy cried
I laughed and rolled my eyes. You gonna love her.
"Well, See you tomorrow, Luna. Come on, babe" She smiled as she grabbed Aaron out with her.
"Luna, Time for study" Mrs Robin, the best teacher ever, called out.
-Time skip-
"Thanks again, Luna. You didn't need to reorganize the shelves for extra credit" She said, unsure.
"No, It's ok. I need it anyway" I smiled. I turned to go before She grabbed my arm.
"Luna, you are a helpful and intelligent girl. You don't need extra credit. You may be failing at Maths but you are top in everything else. Just stay positive and you will achieve" She smiled. I nodded as she let go of my arm.
"Stay safe" She said before leaving.
I stood at the front of the school while I watched Mrs Robin leave in her car.
BOOM!!
A clap of thunder sound before rain began to fall. First little and then pleating.
"Just my Luck" I sighed before walking house. Luckily, my house isn't far from the school. I walked through the woodland that separates the school and my house. It is a shortcut I take sometimes.
My boots trudged through the mud, leaving behind footprints that the rain quickly washed away. I shivered and cluched onto my coat, in need of warmth.
Snap!
My head whipped around at the sudden sound. Nothing. The wind howled like a tornado. Shaking it off, I continued walking
Grr!
An animal like growl froze me to the spot. I can't move until warm breath tickled my neck. Whatever it was was right behind me. I spun around to face a dark figure. Not human. It was walking on four legs and huge. It's eyes glowed red. It just stood there, staring at me with threatening eyes like two balls of fire.
I stepped back, slowly as quietly as I could. One step at a time until...
Snap!
Oh snap, I turned just in time to dodge an attack. I screamed as the animal lunged for me. I was knocked down while the beast made its way towards me. Suddenly, there was a clap of thunder, which seemed to fright the creature as it turned and ran away.
Breathing heavily, I picked myself up from the ground and made my way home, slowly as I was in pain from the attack.
-Time skip-
I opened the door and closed it quickly as if the beast was still behind me. I slipped down the door as I hissed in pain.
"Luna?.. Oh my god!!" My mum gasped and rushed to my side.
"What happened?" She asked, checking me over.
"It's fine, Mum. Just an animal attack" I replied.
"Are you sure you are ok?" She asked, unsure.
"Yes" I replied with a nod.
"Ok, Go upstairs and have a bath" She ordered.
I walked upstairs and started to run water into the bath. I looked into the mirror and lifted my top. A bite. Teeth marks sunk into my skin. Not just normal ones. The ones from a wolf.
