Chapter 1- Present Day
“Bomb One: Miss...”
“Let’s pick up the pace, Viper! The Shadows are closing in on you!”
“...Bomb Two: Miss...”
“That’s the point, isn’t it?”
“...Bomb Three: Miss.”
“Dead end in 300 meters, Viper!”
Viper pushed himself harder than he ever had before. A good workout was just what he needed to get the adrenaline pumping. 300 meters left.
“Commander Thompson, all three bombs missed the targets. What now?” The Commander looked to her underling.
“If you have to go and kill them yourself, do it. Find the one who has the Treasure and take it back.” 5th Rank General Walker nodded, heading towards the elevator.
Viper swung around. “Looking for this?” He asked, holding up a solid gold crown, much similar in appearance to that of Queen Elizabeth’s. “You’ll have to get it from me, cognitive bastards! Take ’em out Lucrezia!”
With a shot from his Evoker, Viper’s Persona, Lucrezia, manifested with a devilish snicker. Lucrezia released a strong toxic gas in the crowd of Shadows, weakening them as Viper Shot his dual pistols, Equitas and Integritas. Viper alone had wiped out about a quarter of the Shadows in the crowd. “You know what to do, Lucrezia!” He shouted. “Detonate!”
Lucrezia nodded, manifesting a ball of flame and launching it into the toxic gas. As flame touched the gas, it combusted, wiping out the remaining Shadows. Viper stood just outside of the explosion’s radius, bursting with laughter as the enemies burned right in front of him.
“Amazing job, Viper!”
Meanwhile, Nomad and Sparrow were surrounded by their own crowd of Shadows.
“Seer, I need an analysis on these Shadows!” Nomad shouted. “What are their weak points?”
“It’s hard to get a read on these things, but it seems physical attacks and Bless magic work best. Sparrow, you’ll have to use your Persona offensively.”
Sparrow nodded. “Come on out, Patecatl!” She yelled as she triggered the Evoker. The bright, vibrant Persona manifested. “We’re going into attack mode! Hit the Shadows with all you’ve got!”
The old Aztec God of Healing chuckled, manifesting holy energy in mass amounts. The shower of light felt like little flames to the Shadows, burning them as Sparrow furiously swung her sword at the enemies. Nomad joined his ally, taking down foes with his bo staff. Together, the added power of the two faithful friends and Patecatl was just enough to defeat all of the Shadows.
General Walker stepped out of the elevator, which opened just meters away from where Nomad and Sparrow stood.
“Your silly games are over, Phantom Thieves,” General Walker said in a particularly nasty tone of voice.
Boom.
“Bomb Four… Hit.”
