Chapter 1
Magnolia wake up
Mags wake up it’s time for you to get ready. Mags!
My sister’s voice wakes me from another restless sleep “no. More sleep please.”
“I’m sorry Magnolia I already let you sleep in ten minutes because I know you worked late at the hospital last night but you need to get up for the” she paused for a moment her brows scrunched up in disgust she didn’t have to say anything I know what she was about to say and it was sad, it was always sad “we’ll be punished now hurry up and get ready,” she says quickly. I close my eyes and try to go back to sleep I hear footstep walking closer to me but I didn’t care until the thin blanket that I had laying over me got ripped off of me my eyes snap open
“Hey solar give it back, please”it was then that I realized that the three other girls that we share the room with have already left I jump out of the bed and say to solar “oh I’m really late aren’t I”
“That’s what I’ve been trying to tell you-you’ve got five minutes now go,” she says in her motherly voice I hated when she used that tone and she knows that but now was not the time to argue with her I jump out of the bed and grab my toothbrush and toothpaste while brushing my teeth I pick out my clothes which doesn’t take a long time because I don’t have a lot I pick black slacks and a black turtleneck shirt and put on my old shoes
“Come on mags we don’t have enough time we’re running late,” my sister says in her annoyed voice because she was already by the door. “Solar I still have to do my hair”
“It's good just put it in a ponytail” she reaches into her back pocket and throws me a scrunchie
“Thanks”
As she grabs the door and stepped out of the room she says “No problem now let’s go,” trying to keep her voice low so she wouldn’t get in trouble I quickly put my hair into a messy ponytail which is normal for me then grab my key and walk quickly to catch up with my sister.
