"In my first career, I was the tactical coordinator in a S-3 Viking ASW jet, flying off the carrier in the Med in the 1980s. The Cold War and nuclear brinkmanship have always fascinated me, and I enjoyed learning what I could in a brief nuclear weapons school. Obviously never got the call to “push the button” to drop the thermonuclear depth charge our plane could carry, but got enough hours in the cockpit to ponder the possibility. Great, well thought out story, good job!"
