Summary

During the dark ages of Vanah, when beasts and fallen gods walked the world of men, the order of the watch was founded to unite all men. In the lands of Vanah are five nations, existing independently from one another. Vena, a republic of commerce and trade. Marubi, a plain nation of the most gifted artisans and craftsmen. Konta, a desert country comprising chiefdoms with citizens savage and cruel. Biru, an island Kingdom of the best fishermen and sailors. Ostabi, a mountainous Kingdom with the exclusive air force in all the known world. In ages now forgotten, the nations of Vanah existed as one and all men lived and served under one banner. The order of the watch protected all men from forces intent on their downfall. But the noble purpose of the order was corrupted. Greed and corruption divided the nations of Vanah. In a poor attempt at their previous unity, the nations founded the games. To remind them of days past. In Vanah and Ostabi, powerful houses challenge for power, meanwhile in the deserts of Konta a revolution has begun, in Biru, a powerful man is given an impossible task and in Marubi, a nation slowly becoming irrelevant tries to position itself opportunistically. After decades of peace, ancient forces awaken across the uncharted sea, and the nations of Vanah are tested by an underlying current of war.

PROLOGUE

During the dark ages of Vanah, when beasts and fallen gods walked the world of men, the order of the watch was founded to unite all men. Theirs was a calling beyond race and country, to bring all men under one banner. And if ever the lives of men was forfeit, the order of the watch was honor bound to be the last line of defense.

But even the noblest purpose can be corrupted. The order lost their way, corrupted and lost they wander, without leader and without reason… and now… in their hour of need…whom shall the nations of Vanah turn to.

bushbaby: I love the slightly different spin on the were-world and I love love love reading Jaspers story splashed in-between. I honestly did not love Dev, he had no character growth and no arc I just didnt like who he is as a person and that made it hard to keep going about half way through. Without Jaspers ...

Loved, Loudly

Merrell Bunting: Well written, kind of quiet story, I enjoyed it. I am still a bit perplexed over whether this was a second chance mating story with choosing or completely a chosen mate story. If it is a chosen mate tale it leaves one a bit worried about a fated mate showing up. Either way it was a nice read.
