-1- It was just another daydreamer
I sit in the back of the class with my friends Astlasa next to me. The teacher’s voice kept droning on and on about this stupid equation hat I already knew for math.
I looked over to Astlasa to see she already stopped paying attention and started to draw. I look back up to the teacher to see her back turned to us as she wrote on the whiteboard. I take my headphones out and put them in my ears using my hair to cover the wire as it goes down to my phone. I leading against the window I was lucky enough to sit next to and started to write.
I looked back over to Astlasa and watched as she drew her crush again, Astlasa was a pretty girl it was just a shame that she was too shy to talk to him. Astlasa wore most of the time sweaters and jeans. Although her pale blonde hair is long she always puts it in a low ponytail so she wouldn’t attract attention. Her crystal blue eyes watched her pen as it moved over the paper to draw her crush. She had a silly smile on her face looking over how far she had gotten with the drawing.
I continued to look out the window watching the kids from gym class. They were playing baseball which meant next hour for my gym I’ll be playing baseball. I take a deep sigh out of my mouth and turn back up to the board to see the teacher is still droning on about the stupid equations.
I watch my friend as she frowns when the bell rings meaning she will have to wait to continue to draw her crush later.
I grab my bag from the ground and swing it over my shoulder as I wait for Astlasa to finish packing up her things. “Are you ready to go?” I ask as she double checks that she has everything.
She looked up at from her five foot and four inches height to my five foot nine. “I’m ready.” She started to the door first but I followed close behind.
I see the same group of girls standing in the middle of the hallway. I roll my eyes ready for the harsh glares and nasty comments.
I kept a watchful eye on Astlasa, she is a little sister to me and I won’t let anything happen to her. We manage to walk past the group of girls without names thrown our way. Something must be up for these girls to be so distracted.
I tilted my head in their direction trying to catch a bit of their conversation, “I know, it not that hard to get the guy I want and I am sure once Jax gets back I will have him eating out of my hand.” I rolled my eyes as Emma Capercorn went on about Jax. Emma Capercorn is here at the academy for singing like Jax. she is number one for girls and third overall while Jax is number one in boys and number one overall.
In all honesty, I think the rank system is stupid. At the Academy, everyone has a rank based off of your talent and how well you are at it. The Academy is a school that mainly teaches people how to be better at their talents, its also know to middle-class people and lower class and ‘Rich kid school’ mainly because the tuition is worst than most colleges and scholarships are hard to come by.
I am 4th in dance as my talent and Astlasa is 7th in drawing art. Both I and Astlasa aren’t really popular, popular people are in music because of Jax. Jax by Junor year became and looked up to American Artist for music and since then people started to try out for music and see if they could get into the academy with music. In all reality, Jax is just lucky.
Either way, Astlasa and I make our way down to the bottom floor and over to the gym. It’s not really normal for kids who are in art or music to have gym class but Astlasa put her gym credit off til senior year so she has to take gym class. Other then that our gym class is full of athletes and kids who like gym class.
I and Astlasa both get dressed and head over to the gym, we sit on the ground next to a white board like the rest of the kids. Looking around the class I could see both Amara and Emma sitting next to each other whispering as the teacher walked into class.
Mr. Granev started towards the whiteboard and started to write on it. As he started to go over what we are doing today someone else spoke, “Sorry I am late Mr. Granev, Mrs. Fawn held me back in class to talk to me.” Most kids turned to see Jax standing there in a navy blue tee- shirt with his sleeves cut off and black basketball shorts. His sandy brown hair was tossed about, showing that he was rushing to get his clothes on. I rolled my eyes when I overhear Emma and Amara talk about him being so hot.
“I will let you off this time but sit down and be quiet as I explain that rest of the class” Mr. Granev started to tell what we were doing which was dodge ball. He went over the rules and started to draw the court on the board before he turned around to us, “Who wants to be team captains?” He scanned over the crowed before his eyes fell on someone to the back, “Jax, since you were here late I think you should be team captain and the other...” His eyes search the crowed again ” And Emma since you like to talk as if you know everything you get to be the other team captain.”
Most kids snickered as Emma sent them a scowl and rolled her eyes at the teacher. Both Emma and Jax stood up and the teacher sent them to opposite sides of the court and had the rest of us line up. Jax got first pick so he emedently picked the schools star player Caleb, Caleb was about six feet and five inches stand about two inches taller then Jax. Cabel had messy blonde hair with dark blue eyes, in contrast to Jaxs bright ones. And he was number one in Athletics. Dance falls under Athletics and that would make my fourth just three ranks behind him.
Emma picked her friend Amara who was third in Athletics. Caleb leans over to Jax and whispers something. “Sage” A look of confusion crossed my face as I heard my name but I still walked up to Jax and stood next to him, ignoring the glares given by Emma. Jeez someone has a crush I chuckle a little at the thought while she picks her next person.
The twenty kids in the class were split up into two groups of ten. Both Atlasa and I did end up on the same team which is a plus. Mr. Granev did a brief go over of the rules before blowing the whistle and starting the game. Atlasa is one of the first people out, she’s not very athletic. It got down to three people left on our side and two on the other. Emma got out earlier but Amara is still in and another boy. I, Jax, and Caleb are left on our side.
The coach lets out a whistle calling a time out so he can take some balls off the court. Jax and Caleb both walk over to me standing in the middle of the court. The teacher makes his job quick as he walks off the court with four balls and kicking a fifth one to the side. A whistle is heard soon after ending the time out.
In the end my team won with I, Jax, and Caleb not getting out. Both I and Atlasa went to change and then Atlasa is quick out the door because her next hour is ELA and her crush, Drake in their.
I was the last one out of the locker room and make my way over to the gym entrance. “Your sage right?“, I hear a voice behind me and turn around to find Jax standing there alone with his normal clothing on.
“Depends who is asking?” I say back wanting to get to me class.
He seem to not like this but brushed it off before he continued to talk “You know if you actually tried you could look like a girl and be popular instead of stuck as a loner”
I’m stunned. “What exactly are you getting at?”
“You know, put your hair up pretty or something, get clothing that’s from the girls section, stuff your suppose to wear.”
He has a death wish. “So you want me to change my look?”
“Well yeah, something more you.”
“Fine, if you insist I’ll change something” I allowed the plan to form in my head while I watched his satisfied face thinking he can control just any girl. Oh, boy he is in for it isn’t he.

I tried but I’m not the best writer.
