Pitohui

Summary

Pitohui. A beautiful bird with deadly feathers. The perfect title for a vigilante such as him. Lance McClain never liked his name. Being a master vigilante, he always found his name as weak and rather insignificant. His new name was Pitohui. A majestic yet petite bird that was native to New Guinea, and while it was truly marvelous, its feathers were poisonous and deadly to the touch. That was just like him. He's extremely skilled, leaving no trace of his appearance there. But when this blue devil steals back a priceless artifact that was stolen from Poitiers and was in the process of being quietly transferred to a residence in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he gets caught blue-handed by a security guard. Instead of killing the thief, the guard decides to keep him inside the residence he protects and tries to uncover the mysterious lapis demon. While hatred would be a common factor between such a relationship, it is not that certain hate that grows, but adoration and care that blooms. Before Pitohui knows it, he can't stand being without him. The real question is, however; does Mr. Shirogane return these unwillingly harbored feelings?

poitiers

The Eye of Vishnu. A large blue diamond that sent short beams of light casting among the dark walls, contrasting with the city lights and the moon's rays, which cast a soft glow through the velvety curtains of the residence. A priceless artifact, possibly worth millions. And it was nestled delicately in his hands as he slipped it into a little black bag.

Pitohui shut the safe and leapt out the window with his natural lithe and grace, throwing a small throwing knife at any security camera that was potentially precise enough to catch his shadowy figure running off into the night. Clipping his bag onto his belt, he leapt from roof to roof, occasionally stopping to admire the view of Poitiers, France, even if it was just a quick glance. The globetrotting vigilante never had time to admire the places he traveled to, so he figured he could spare himself a little bit of sightseeing.

His short chestnut hair was whipped from left to right messily as the wind blew past his face. His tanned skin contrasted greatly with the black and blue suit he wore. His big ocean eyes glimmered with mischief and daring, barely narrowing at the wind slapping his face. If he wasn't an illegal crime-stopper, he might've signed up to be a model.

Opening up a blue hang glider, he took off into the night sky, streaking across the stars in an aegean hue. Only those with the most keen of eyes and the most poised of vision would be able to see the rogue leaving a sapphire trail across the deep midnight sky, his deep shadow casting over the city, snuffing out the lights temporarily. He looked down and saw his train skimming across the railroad.

"My ride is here," he murmured. "I'm right on time."

"Like you ever aren't," a muffled voice came from the coms that were disguised as earrings. "Ticket purchased and uploading."

Pitohui looked down at his phone and saw the QR code flash in his face. He glided down to the bus stop just as it screeched to a stop, changing into a blue cropped hoodie with a tight black T-shirt underneath, tight black leggings, and blue Converse just as the door opened wide, paving the way for him to step in and scan his ticket. The conductor directed him to his seat, and he walked into the little room.

"First class, sweet," he commented, setting his black bag down next to him as he sat down.

"My treat, Blue. You earned it," the same voice replied, followed by the creaky whine of an office chair reclining.

"Thanks, Pidge. Now, where's our next stop?"

"You're currently en route to Paris, France, where you'll board Flight X-205 at the Charles de Gaulle," she replied. Pidge was Pitohui's trustworthy right-hand man - or, woman - who was formerly a white-hat hacker, who was now working for Pitohui. She'd met Pitohui while he was attending university.

"Copy that. Now, what's our next-"

He was interrupted by the door sliding open.
