"Eversince that I could remember, I had been reading books. It is like my escape from the reality, a portal to the fantasy realm I really hope to enter. It gives me a plethora of emotion that I may not otherwise feel in my bland world. There are lot of books in Inkitt (and let's include Wattpad too) Sad to say, there are many stories that put me down. The plot was nowhere to go, the main characters are detestable and when you finish the ending, it will give you scratch in the head. There are other books that has a great story line but poorly executed, there are talented author with great writing narratives ( I appreciate it, promise), sometimes the plot was too simple for my liking. This "Darkness that Hunts" was an exception. The book is one of the rare gems. It has a complex story line that was beautifully crafted by the equally gifted author which makes you merged as a part of the story itself. You can see, feel and taste everything as you peruse. There are no bland chapters. You want to become part of their world and you wish that the story itself was happening in real life. I hope in the future, the author will land a writing deal and I could not wait for my hand to have a hard copy of this book. To be honest, I don't like series (except Harry Potter & Naruto of course) but I do hope that the author will continue the rest of the story. It was like it was meant for 1st installment only. It's been a long time since I felt the joy of reading a story until I read this book and I hope many Inkitt reader find this book equally gratifying as well."

"The way that the author described the settings, or the objects, was enchanting. I felt as if I was a part of the story, and I couldn’t stop reading. Not only is the writing style good, but the plot was well designed. It feels as if I am reading a published book."

"Great read. Every detailed line keeps you captivated. A bit of action, a fair amount of mystery and a whole lot of fantasy. Love that the heroine is of color, not many fantasy/syfy novels with a leading like Shari. The background characters also have ethnic origins from Native American, Asian, and Hispanic. Everyone's represented in a positive light which is most certainly appreciated. The Darkness That Hunts is a must read and I would definitely like to see this in theaters. Two thumbs up."
