Scents and memories.
They're all connected.
Sitting in his bed watching a stupid movie, couldn't remember the name of it if my life depended on it.
I couldnt focus on it over how loud my heart was beating in my ears.
The only thing my brain had the capacity to focus on was the smell of his cologne and the smell of the constant cloud from his idiotic vaping addiction.
"What is that?"
"It's called Unicorn. It's from a local shop. Lots of people use it."
"Oh, I like how it smells."
Five minutes later his lips were on mine.
Everything I had wanted for the past several months was happening.
Finally.
Then he was gone.
He was incapable of a love stronger than the love he had for himself.
He loved having someone who would do anything for him.
He loved having someone who would willingly drop everything they were doing to bend to his every whim.
He loved having someone who loved him more than he loved himself.
I would do anything for him.
I would willingly drop everything I was doing to bend to his every whim.
I loved him more than he loved himself.
High school bathrooms are filled with a mixture of scents from everyone vaping.
Every once in a while, I could smell it.
Unicorn.
And I get mad.
Then sad.
Reminiscent.
I loved him.
But who needs love when you love yourself more than you'll let anyone else love you?
But every once in a while, I could smell it.
Unicorn.
