"First, let me begin by saying Mafia romance is not my preferred genre, so I haven't approached this book with a positive bias. However, the strength of the characters--fierce, determined independence meets a commanding presence really works. Unlike many Mafia stories, the characters are likable and relatable. So far it has a kind of Cinderella rags-to-riches feel to it, but that's fine because the woman has agency. I'd like to thank the author for putting this sample up to try before purchasing the book. I found it to be a very compelling read despite the fact that I don't tend toward this kind of fiction."
