Chapter One
It was a curious thing to Amy Rose; the question she had always been waiting to be answered. No, it was not " Why does Sonic run away from me?" , but is " Why am I chasing him?". She had spend countless hours running to and fro, and had gotten herself and her close cluster of friends involved in various, and always unsuccessful, plans of the evil genius Doctor Ivo Robotnic, who was usually known as Eggman. " Not anywhere close to a genius if you ask me.", Amy thought, criticizing the human she fought constantly. She was sitting on a beach alone, just staring toward the open sea. Amy mentally cursed at herself, and wondered why was she doing this again? There was no sunrise or sunset here, or anything beautiful that would inspire her to think deeply. It did the exact opposite for her than she hoped it would. Staring at the water reminded her that Sonic hates the water; when yet she herself was a water bug. When she looked at the blades of grass blowing in the wind, she remembered how fast the fastest thing alive could rip through every piece of grass in the mere matter of seconds. " What's wrong with me?" , Amy asked herself before answering the question aloud herself. " OH NO! I LEFT THE OVEN ON!" Amy's speed at that moment could have rivaled Sonic's speed, as the pink ball of panic tore through the grass she was just examining.
