Epilogue
Ginger sighs heavily as she walks silently down the dark streets, her shadow only appearing as she passes under the dim light of the street lamps. Rundown buildings line both sides of the streets and no one was in view. Everyone knew better than to be out at this hour. The gangs ran the streets during this time of night but Ginger was not afraid, even though she knew she probably should be. It gave her such a rush, like when you’re sitting in the chair at the parlor and you hear the tattoo gun start up for the first time.
Perhaps its the big doe-like eyes that sparkle darkly and rest in a face made of what seemed like porcelain, that catches your attention first. That attention quickly is drawn to the long dark tresses of hair dipped in a deep forest green, and then to the ink that seemed to cover her. Tattoos seem to be so taboo and yet Ginger didn’t care what passersby thought of her and her body art. In fact, it only made her want to flaunt it. She liked seeing people avoid her gaze and scurry away in discomfort.
Her ‘don’t give a fuck’ attitude and good looks caused many a male to stray towards her but she always looked the other way in disinterest. It also caused her a lot of problems both at school and home. This is why her aunt had informed her earlier that day that she was going to a school that would “help” her and turn her into a “lady”. Ginger scoffed out loud as the conversation rolls around her mind and unconsciously she pulls out a cigarette. She feels the tenseness of her muscles start to loosen as she inhales the nicotine. A group of males step out of the shadows and call her name. Not a single one of them look happy.
She rolls her neck and stretches out her arms swinging them around lightly before taking another drag off of the lit cigarette and flicking it off into the night.
“One last night of freedom? Lets have some fucking fun shall we?” She says with a smirk.
