Only a piece of the Start
The wind threw itself against the window of the rundown Oasis motel. A small light pierced through the curtain crack of room one. Inside an older man leaned over a woman injecting a needle into her arm. The woman eyes roll, she falls back.
“That’s some good shit aint it,” he asked.
She nods her head slightly, trying to pull herself up she slips off the bed. Slowly the closet door opens, a small girl pokes her head out.
“Mommy, I’m hungry,” she said
“Go away,” the woman says.
“But mommy.”
“Listen to your mother girl.”
“But…”
His hand lies up catching her in the cheek. The girl stumbles backwards hitting her head on the non of the closet. Eyes swelling with tears, she brings her hands up to her cheek and head.
“I told you to listen to your mom. Next time I wont be as soft. There are consequences to your actions, after today all your consequences come from me. You better start listening good.”
“I don’t want to go. I want to stay here with mommy.”
“Your mother doesn’t want you nor has use for you.”
The man walks up to the girl bending down to her eye level.
“You do absolutely nothing good for your mother. With me, I can find all kinds of uses for me and my friends. Isn’t that right Bea.”
The woman slowly nods her head, a giggle comes out, “Your a worthless brat, all children are.”
He puts his hand down on her leg caressing it. The house begins to shake, glasses falls to the ground, the foundation starts to make a rip sound as if it were breaking. The Oasis sign crashes down blowing in the side window.
“What the fuck,” the man said.
Bea suddenly very conscious springs up clenching the man shirt. Swearing a little bit he helps her to her feet. Leaning over a bit she clenches her stomach.
The little girl runs to the back sliding door to look outside. Up in the sky a light shinned so bright the girl hid her eyes. The shaking gets much worse tossing the little girl back, then everything stops. She jumped up to look back outside, the pool foundation was cracked all over, smoke rising from within.
“Get away from there,” the man said.
The little girl didn’t take a second to look back, she slides the glass door open. She walks swiftly across the court yard peering into the pool. A black orb glows a reed shade dimly. The man walks out to the patio Be a trying to follow behind but stables and holds herself up against the glass.
“Dont you take one more step.”
The girl peers up at the man nodding her head.
“ What is it,” she asked
“What is what?”
The girl points down into the pool, the mans gaze following. His eyes widen, he grabs his chest with his hand. He hunches over falling to the ground. A loud scream follows.
“Trevor,” Bea says.
Be a stumbles over to Trevor. She hunches over him and shakes him agressivly. Red gas starts exiting the gloomy rock, the air becomes heavy. Trevors’ body starts to spasm.
“Whats going on,” Bea said.
“Mommy,” the little girl said.
Trevors hand comes up around be almost embracing her. He pulls his head up, his breaths shallow and a growl curling from his throat. The woman shakes under his embrace coughing the smoke embracing them. Trevor bits down on the woman neck sending blood curtailing scream from her. The little girl drops the doll she has running over to the. She pounds on Trevors back as he devoured her mothers flesh. Trevor snaps back pulling the girl by the wrist towards her. He bites down onto her arm causing her to scream and trying to get free. Little by little he carves away at her flesh with his teeth. The little girl drops to the ground, her body slowly becoming still.
