Summary

Cherry ( Madison) is an orphan who will turn to 18 on September I went and dropped my bag and shoes in my bedroom, then went to find the box with the masks. But when I extracted the box, another box came on top of it. I never saw that. I opened it and found photos, letters, and empty candy bags. I pulled a photo and found a woman with tall red hair and green eyes. I recognized her instantly. She has been the one I always dream about. It was mom. I scrawled the photos. There were more photos of her and dad. Then, in one photo, I noticed a boy. He had red hair and green eyes as well. Then truth hit me like a bullet. I had a.... brother.

The orphanage

My name is cherry, and I live in an orphanage. My parents, Lily and Lincoln, died in an car crash, that is what Charlotte told me anyway. Life here is not that bad. We wake up at eight to do our chores. Kids who are my age go to school, so we don’t make our chores except when we come back from school.

Cherry is not really my name, it is only because I have cherry red hair. I also have white pale skin and pink lips with green eyes, freckles around the nose. By the way, my real name is Madison.

Today is a big day for me. It is my birthday. It is also the first day of school. I don’t really expect presents, but you don’t grow sixteen everyday do you. As I open my eyes for the day I see a pair of brown eyes in front of me. I jump in fright and slip to the floor, with my feet still on the bed. But as I look up a bit, I see the headline of black hair, of course....Lizly.

“Wake up cherry, Charlotte made an special breakfast of apple pies and says we can’t start eating before you come.”seven years old Lizly said, jumping on my bed.

“Jeez Liz, you can’t just wake someone like that.” I told her , getting on my feet,”you gave me a heart attack.”

“Whatever, just hurry up will you?” And she hoops out of the room.

I dress in my jeans and a sweater. You can’t say on our clothes that it is bad looking, it might be pale and fibble, but it is better than the other orphanages. After I finish with my short hair, I pick my backpack and head out of the room.

Lizly is a girl with tall black hair, she also had chocolate milky skin and brown eyes. Her parents were known scientists, but they died in a gas explosion. Lizly wasn’t except one year then.

Anyway I went down the stairs(talllllll ones, sense there are around fifty kids in here)and found the tall table crammed. When I Charlotte came and gave me a big hug. I felt most of my ribs break under her arms. When she finally let go, Charlotte went to the oven to check on the apple pies. I went to sit and as my butt touched the chair, everyone hastened to reach me first. At first, I didn’t know what is the problem with those people, but then I saw in each ones hand a box, and it dawned on me...PRESENTS.

I was surprised, by if not the presents, with the amount of apple pies made by Charlotte in one morning. After I took all the presents from the kids(with thanks, of course) the orphanage kids and I ate our way through the Apple pie . When Ginny asked Charlotte what time do we have left before going to school, Charlotte jumped as if been warned that a bullet will shoot near her head. “School! I forgot. Come on I already packed your lunches.”

As we headed to the door, Charlotte passed each of us (twenty, I suppose.) his or her lunch. And as I went outside the door to the open air, I knew that it will be a tall day to begin with.
