"What if" we celebrate everyday
Kylie just became the world youngest billionaire crossing Mark Zuckerberg
She flipped over every pages of the newspaper and ended up everytime on the billionaires page. Looking at her watch she was hoping that time would stretch out indefinitely.
At the school gate she was waiting for her friend.
"Shyla,what are you dreaming about.I'm here",shouted namrita.
"Stop shouting! Do you know who's the youngest billionaire? "
"Only if I was paid for reading forbes.Come out of this fantasy world and try to look beyond those pages, then you'll realise what made up the world youngest billionaire tag."
" I think we're getting late for the school",Shyla ended up this debate. She knew that Namrita would kill her good morning forbes vibes. But deep inside she agreed with her too.
It was the last date for the submission of the English Project. And as usual Shyla completed it in one night.
"Why are you so careless in your works. Projects add up 20 marks without studying",said Danish the class monitor.
"But I completed my project ".
Holding one lace of the project he looked towards Shyla and all the pages fell down on the desk, covered with glitters and tapes.
"Completed?",mumbled Danish.
Shyla looked down at the pages she was disappointed with herself, then she looked at Danish and with a goofy smile she said to him,"What do you want to become in future?"
"This question does not belongs to this situation. Anyways last year I was thinking to be an engineer, but now I just want to complete B.tech and then I'll settle in USA".
"Do you know what's the qualification of our Physics teacher?"
"No,but why?"
"Next period is of him,ask yourself then you'll get the answer"
Danish was confused, but he listened to her.
The bell rang and the Physics teacher entered the class.
After the class ended,Danish went to the Physics teacher with Shyla and said to him,"sir if you don't mind can I ask you about your qualification?"
"Yes,I completed B.tech. Thought of settling in USA, but it was not so easy",replied sir.
Shyla patted on Danish shoulders and went away from their.
Shyla belonged to a middle class family. She lost her faith from education. After her father got fired from a clerk's position, although he was an MBA graduate. She did believe in opportunities, but she never waited for them. Completing projects on time will give rise to another MBA graduate working as a clerk. So,she used to live her life in her own way.
The wheels of the time did not stop and this theory of Shyla brought troubles to her. She was failed in the first term and, if she would fail again in the second term. Then she would have to repeat the same class. And a situation like this in a middle class family is considered as an earthquake in Japan. She started studying. Her hippie times ended up soon.
"Shyla tomorrow is children's day. I think you should plan something for it",said Shyla's mother.
"No,mom. I'll have to complete this chapter by tonight. If,I'll be able to do so. Then I'll think ".
"Alright but don't forget to have the dinner".
"Okay".
Luckily she was able to complete the chapter. The next day she planned with her friends to go for an outing.
She enjoyed a lot and while crossing the road she saw small children playing under the left over space of the bridge. She did not ate up all the chocolates, as her stomach was full . So,she thought of sharing with those children.
But,Namrita stopped her because that was not a safe place to go but she denied to her. And with a smiling face Namrita said "Shakespeare did not lied when he said- If to do were as easy to know what were good to do, Chapels had been churches, and poor men's cottages princes palaces".
Shyla laughed and replied to her, "bad for you, that I don't carry marks in my pocket". This conversation ended and they all went to those children.
Shyla asked to one of the children, about what he wanted to become in the future?
His shirt was torn down to the knees, running nose and he was carrying his little sister with one arm.
The boy looked up at Shyla, for a few seconds. And went back to play.
She dumped this question and gave some chocolates to him saying," Happy Children's day".
And then the boy looked up again, but this time he said to her,"Why do you celebrate Children's day?".
She stood blankly, because the only answer she had was Jawahar Lal Nehru's Birthday.
At that moment she realised that being a child is not enough to celebrate children's day. All her miseries and doubts felt like a needle as compared to that question.
And now she thought that this world is not a better place to live in,because we still dream of heaven.
Those children didn't even had good clothes to wear, still they were enjoying themselves. And they don't even need a particular time to celebrate joy. It was an everyday thing for them. Truly, life itself is not a mystery but a part of it which signifies lives. But what if we would start celebrating like those children, instead of thinking about what to do the next day?
