1. Untouchable
When you think of the word untouchable, what do you think of? Perhaps someone who is so beautiful or rich that the world cannot affect them. Or maybe you think of someone who belongs to the lowest Hindu group in the caste system. However, Oxford Dictionary has a few different meanings for the word untouchable.
1. Not able or allowed to be touched or affected.
1.1 Unable to be matched or rivaled.
2. Of or belonging to the lowest-caste Hindu group or the people outside of the caste system.
Technically, I'm an untouchable, but not for the reasons you think. I'm not able to be unaffected or rivaled, nor am I Hindu, I'm untouchable because I'm sick. I'm Charlotte Bonner, a seventeen year-old girl with moderate Hemophilia A whose not expected to make it past adulthood. I'm untouchable because people are afraid to touch me in fear that they'll break me. They think I'm made of porcelain and that I'll become damaged with the slightest jostle. But here's a little secret: I'm not as fragile as you think. People think Hemophilia A defines me, but it doesn't. Sure, I may go to the hospital a lot and yeah maybe I'm not able to do everything so called "normal" people can but that doesn't mean I'm made of glass. So just to counteract those who think I'm fragile I've made a list. Charlotte Bonner's Bucket List, a list filled with *seven* things that most Hemophiliacs won't do or aren't allowed to do, and I, Charlotte Bonner, am going to do every single one, to prove that I'm not as fragile as people think. Now seven isn't a lot, but I'll be lucky enough if my parents and my doctors even let me attempt one of them, we'll see.
