Na Jaeyoung—the girl who turned my life upside down. She's the reason all these fortunate and unfortunate events fell into place. I don’t feel any gratitude toward her, and I never will. She brought pain to me and my family. My dad eventually had enough and walked out on us.
With my mom working constantly, I was left to take care of my younger brother. After years of hard work, we finally saved enough to start fresh. We left Mandeok-dong, Busan, and moved to Seoul.

"Yah!" I shouted, kicking my brother's door open. He looked up from his sketchbook, eyes narrowing at me. "Come help me clean," I ordered, glaring at the brown-haired boy. He wrinkled his nose, letting his pencil roll away. "And why should I? What’s in it for me?"
I scoffed, leaning back on my left foot with my arms crossed. "You don’t get hurt by me, for one." Jungkook sighed, rolling off his bed and brushing past me.
We walked to the kitchen in silence before I turned to him. "Let’s make this more interesting. Whoever cleans their section of the kitchen fastest wins, and the loser has to buy snacks." Jungkook’s eyes widened before a smirk crept onto his face. "Deal."
We shook on it and started cleaning. We had an even amount of work. I began with the island, moved to the cupboards, and finished with the floor. I finished three seconds before Kook.
