Prologue
Rosehaven is one of the smallest towns in Pennsylvania; it consists of a few schools, a diner, a grocery store, a gas station and a population of only six hundred people.
The homes are either average or extravagant, there is no in-between. The mediocre people live in the houses with dead grass and yards littered with fallen trees and broken toys. The privileged live in the two-story brick houses with landscaped yards, lined with beautiful flowers and surrounded by fancy fences with gates.
I was amongst the average growing up as a foster child. Though I was moved from one house to another and passed from family to family, I managed to adjust to and accept the life I was given. Like a sponge, I absorbed things and learned a lot from each home, and life was good.
Good, until I was old enough to be on my own. I learned new things then; things that changed my life, my relationships and my mind about this little town.
Secrets of the town were kept in the dark. There were so many strange things happening, some were more astonishing than anyone could have imaged. With no way of determining who I could trust, I felt alone.
As my life spiraled into a mess of betrayal and lies, it became a horrifying nightmare. The kind that causes you to sweat and to tremble, cry and panic, because you can’t breathe no matter how hard you try. And I just wanted wake up, for things to go back to the way they were before. But unfortunately, there was no waking up because this was my reality.
