I
I remember when I first saw you. It was two years ago. It feels like yesterday when I laid my eyes on you for the first time, but I know it was two years ago.
It was two years ago because we were sophomores then. I was younger; mentally, emotionally, and physically.
I was also happier two years ago, and that was because I hadn't known you yet.
You were sitting at a table in the front with all your friends, and you looked so happy so
b e a u t i f u l.
Your brown eyes shined, reflecting the buzzing energy of the room for the first day in a new class.
That was something we had in common. Brown eyes. Mine are murky and dull now, but yours are still shining.
Looking back now, I should've known you would cause me trouble. It had been years since I liked a guy, it was all just fleeting attraction for a while. I was tired of being rejected. But I thought you would be the change.
I was wrong.
But I wish I had been right.
