Chapter 1 Twelve years later
I was falling what seemed like forever, then red liquid starting flowing on top of me, covering me from head to toe, It smelled awful and then I realized it was blood. I started panicking then a girls body fell from the sky and crashed onto the ground next to me. I turned over the body it was Sofia dressed in her robes covered in blood stains. Then to my horror she opened her eyes and stared at me, then she rasped.
“I could have still been alive, if it wasn’t for you, it’s your fault!”
I backed away in fear she grabbed me the blood still poured down onto me, then I heard a raspy voice.
“Your the reason she’s dead, your the reason!”
“Stop! no , no!!” I shouted. Then I realized that the blood was gone, It was only a dream, I was in my room, her wand next to my bed.
Sweat was pouring down my face, I got up and walked over to my closet to get dressed. I opened my door, Waiting for me was Korius and Afaris. They looked at me with concern.
“You ok mate?” Korius asked.
“Yeah, bad dream.” I replied, then walked towards the great hall. The hall was bustling with students, Alpenfury was sitting in his chair watching everyone. Then a girl with red hair ran up to me.
“Caleus!” She shouted, then hugged me.
“Hey Sofia, wow your getting so big.” I replied. Sofia Winfrid was Korius and Afaris daughter, she was 13 years old and she had long red hair.
“What kind of magic are you teaching today?” She asked excited.
“Sorry, I cant tell you.” I replied, then she looked at me very sternly. Her face disappeared and I saw Sofia face covered in blood.
I jumped back,in terror and then it was gone.
“Caleus what’s wrong?” She asked, concerned.
“Nothing, nothing.” I replied, then walked away towards the teachers tables.
Korius and Afaris followed me, I sat down still afraid of what I just saw.
“Caleus, what happened?” Afaris asked.
I decided to eat, ignoring the question. Sofia Winfrid was looking over at me concerned. But then she started talking to her friends.
“Caleus.” Korius said.
Then Alpenfury walked over to us and said. “Better get a move on, classes are about to start.”
We got up from the table, then I said. “You guys are teachers too.”
“Alpenfury, let me teach magic history.” Afaris replied.
“Bye honey.” Korius said, then leaned over and kissed her. Korius then disappeared, we started walking towards our classrooms.
“Where does Korius work?” I asked.
“The Magic Congress, as a Dark Wizard catcher.” She replied.
“Wow, that’s amazing.” I replied.
“Well see you for lunch.”
“See you.” I replied, then walked into my classroom and plopped into my chair, by my desk. I stared at the ceiling, wondering why I saw that.
The students walked into the classroom, somewhere talking with friends others eager to get started.
“Alright settle down, now welcome to you newcomers, my name is Professor Clawwind.” I said.
Sofia was smiling up at me, I smiled back.
“Alright today we will be learning the defensive charm, now does anyone know how to produce this charm?” I asked, Sofia's hand shot up.
“Yes Sofia.”
“You must make an L movement with your wand.” She replied.
“Excellent 15 points for Gryzzlelon.” I said, then the Gryzzlelons where smiling up at me.
“Now I want each of you to partner up.” I said.
Sofia deflected the spell that her opponent shot at her perfectly. I smiled at her she smiled back, but then Sofia’s blood stained face appeared and shouted.
“It’s your fault your fault!” I screamed in panic, then realized that I had fallen onto the floor.
“Mr. Clawwind!” A Beaverpaw named Justin shouted. I got up, my head was aching.
Then In the corner of the room I saw Zedall, I pulled out my wand, which was Sofia’s wand and ran towards him, anger filling my body. I shot a orange burst towards him, He laughed, then rasped. “Hello Caleus.”
“NO, YOUR DEAD!” I shouted, Then, I pointed my wand towards him.
“Caleus!” Sofia shouted, as she tugged my robes. I realized that Zedall was gone, and I had destroyed the the corner of the classroom.
“Then, he’s not alive, It was a dream, but I wasn’t asleep, what’s going on!” I shouted inside my mind. Sofia was clutching onto my robes.
“Are you ok?” She asked.
“IM FINE!” I roared. Then collapsed onto the floor, tears flowing down my face.
“You bring me too much pain.” I said to her between sobs. Tears flowed down her face, then the room went dark, Sofia's face appeared again, she was screaming in agony. I backed away in fear, tears flowing down my face, the blood flowed onto me again. “Whats, WHAT’S HAPPENING TO ME!” I shouted, into the empty space.
Then I was back in my classroom, students where staring at me in fear, I got up and ran from the classroom. I ran as fast as I could, I heard Zedall again.
“You cant run forever, you cant run away from her!” He shouted.
“No, your dead, I destroyed you!” I shouted back.
“I may be gone. But I will be with you forever.” He replied. Then the room went dark Sofia was now pointing her wand at me.
“Now, it’s your turn to feel death.” She replied.
I stared in horror at her, then darkness. When I awoke, Afaris was standing above me with her hands over her mouth.
“Afaris!” I shouted, then hugged her.
“Caleus, what’s happened to you?” She asked.
“You were shouting things while you were asleep.”
“Im fine.” I replied.
“Caleus!” She roared.
“Ok, I see her, I see her dead covered in blood, shouting things at me, and everytime I see your daughter, I see Sofia in agony!” I shouted, in between sobs.
“Caleus.” She replied.
We walked up to Alpenfurys office, he looked very surprised about my condition. Then he flicked his wand towards my head, I felt all the flashes of the images and the darkness leaving my head. I felt my head go fuzzy then I heard a voice.
“You win this round Caleus.”
Darkness enveloped me. When I awoke Alpenfury was pacing the room.
“Your awake.” He said.
“What’s happening to me?” I asked, drying the tears from my face.
“Your mind was invaded, and when I tried to stop it, my mind was instantly filled with all the pain and sacrifice in my life.” He replied.
“So, someone invaded my mind and made me relive my worst pains?” I asked.
“Indeed, but what troubles me is how, I was affected as well.” He replied.
“There must be a very dark wizard in these walls.” Afaris said.
We walked out of his office, wands drawn. Then we walked into the great hall, to my horror there was Justin, blood pouring out of his chest. His blond hair had been stained red. I fell to my knees, another student had died because of me. Afaris walked over to a wall, then put her hands to her mouth. I walked over, to my horor it said.
“How many more people will die for you Caleus?”
It was written in blood, many students walked into the hall many screamed and cried. Sofia ran over to me, hugging me tightly. More innocent blood was spilt at Signore.
