Set Ablaze

Reminisce that last kiss,

that lingering touch

and that shiver causing breath across your neck...

candle light and our memories always and forever smothering my mind

I can but grasp at the sands of time, and think back on this time as mine

For the here and now bring with it the stillness of a lake at dead calm

A finality of what used to be

A memory, showing my fraility

A former self indulged by you

I grow alone, in this subdued hue

This sunset that is forever kept

Like the lingering feelings of your spirit

Upon my mind, upon my soul, upon my ever waking skin

I cannot but blame myself for letting you in

You are never forgotten, never dismissed

My memories are a blissful mist

This mist I wipe from my once dry cheek

And I walk again, grasping at the sands of time

sensing your very hand held within mine

And I know...... its simply my memory.... a time that once was...
