Chapter 1 The Broken
It was the way the wind ripped my skin from my body, and how the rain laced oil along my arms. The black lines that trickled down to my wrists where blood poured out, creating a pool of my dreams. The pale reflection of my eyes, flames eating away my smile and replacing it with stitches, keeping me hostage. The way my brain begged for me to die, but my body persevered to live. The way love called me, but wouldn’t get close enough for fear of death.
I will always be alone. No one dares dance with death in hopes of living longer. No one loves what is broken forever. But, that didn’t mean that the broken didn’t have to get up everyday and go to school, or work, or to take care of its children, or drink away its pain. The broken act as the whole, smiling, using their manners at all times, carrying their crumbling world while trying to help balance the worlds of those around them. The insane that kept the sane from drifting to far away from happiness. Oh how I wish I could have remained innocent, happy.
But We must remember the beautiful, the inspiring, the future. This is for Us, the Broken.
