Summary

My name is Maria, or at least I think so? I grew up at a supposed home for the clinically insane. But after my sixteenth birthday nothing is right. Hello, everyone, you can call me Vampy! This is my first story on inkitt I really love the supernatural world and everything it can hold. I'll try to explain things if I need to, but hopefully, nothing should be too hard to understand. Let me know if it is though! Thanks for reading!

“Someone shut that damn baby up!” A man yells rubbing his temples watching as the night nurse fumbles helplessly at the baby she just found dropped on the doorstep.

“I-I’m so sorry sir! I-I just don’t u-understand what’s making her upset. We are not equipped to handle children as small as her w-what should we do?” The nurse asked scooping the babe up into her arms shushing it gently while she tucked the little girl close to her body.

“Don’t bother me with this you know the true business that goes on in this place! Throw it with the others if it lives, it lives. If it turns out ugly feed it to the wolves, I have no use for things that won’t make me money.” He said with an aggravated grunt to which the nurse just held her tongue. After all, she was one of those who couldn’t make him money so she was stuck with this job. She decided it was best to walk away from the situation before she said something she would definitely regret in the morning.

Today

“Marcy! If those sheets are not cleaned before lunch or the headmaster will have your head!” My friend Angelique squealed as she noticed I was still collecting sheets from the many rooms the girls serviced.

“Angie I can’t help it I just have a weird feeling today. Like there is a change happening to me.” I said as I threw a pile of pillow covers in the hamper causing an angry grunt to leave my lips.

“Change smange!” Angelique screamed just loud enough to annoy me but not bother the unruly ‘guards’. Really they were more like slave workers forcing us to work like crazy until we passed out. “The big honcho guy that comes make donations every month is coming today. And you know if everything isn’t perfect it will be on everybody.”

“How could I forget. Nobody will let me.” It was true everyone in this place was either terrified to the point of pissing themselves or throwing themselves at Mr. Harmond. The head whores here don’t even care if he has a wife they just want a chance to get after his son that comes to age soon. And if you’re seriously asking that question yes I have my special v-card. The Headmaster thinks I’ll be a waste of money out on his shows so instead I’m here cleaning up the shows... aftermath.

“Of course everyone is talking about it Marcy! His son is coming with him this time to learn the business, but you know I wouldn’t mind if he had a little fun you know.” Angelique giggled at the thought her long legs squeezing together in her black torn jeans. And yes, if your wondering Angelique is a head whore just not the kind that’s a bitch.

“Angie you’re like 6 years older than me. And isn’t Mr. Harmond’s son like a year or two older than me? Doesn’t that make you a cougar?” I laughed as Angelique turned red at my statement. She pushed me towards the hamper and I fell in causing me to scream in disgust. It wasn’t long before heavy footsteps were heard.

“Scram!” Angelique squeaked while she attempted to run in her pumps one direction. I shivered in disgust as I tried to climb out of the hamper myself sadly I’m short so it took me a second but I was too late.

“Maria?” A gruff voice said I whipped around and stood up as straight as I could.

“Yes sir?” I thought it might of been just Marcus the usually guard on duty, but my luck wasn’t on my side. The headmaster shook his head and let out a huff through gritted teeth.

“Finish the laundry then straight to my office. Understood?” Anger filled his every being as he towered above my small form I gulped and nodded. “I didn’t hear you, Maria, what was that?”

“Y-Yes sir,” I said then finally he stomped away. I looked to the laundry and the rest of the unopened doors in the hall. “I am so dead.”
