Prologue
A full moon hovered in the night sky. It was dark. Amarie was sprinting through the cretaceous jungle, as she carried AJ in her arms. Scars and bruises marked on her entire body. Panic and fear filled Amarie's body, as she frantically searched around the forest. In the distance, large sauropod dinosaurs sang and hollered as they grazed on the tall coniferous trees. AJ, a 2 year old baby, began to wake up, thanks the the singing. AJ now started to sniffle and bawl. "Now, now, it'll be alright.." Amarie reassured. However, she is not sure if what she had said was true.
Amarie looked around, and had noticed that the singing and hollering had stopped. All she could hear now was buzzing of huge insects and the large and odd-looking birds quietly singing a lullaby. She sat down near a fallen tree in a small clearing, and let the birds drowse her to sleep.
Crunch!
Amarie snapped awake and looked around. In the near distance, she saw coniferous and pine trees rustle and shake gently, but Amarie could tell it wasn't the wind. Something was walking her way. Her heart began to pound. She climbed the hill she was on and found a small rocky cave. She climbed in, but Aj began to cry. She began to rock him, and he quickly calmed down, though he made an awkward face.
AA-ACHOO!
Aj had just sneezed, and the sound echoed out of the cave and into the clearing, and into the forests, then the dinosaurs. Amarie quickly and silently put her hand on his mouth, so he couldn't laugh or cry at the moment. The crunching became louder, often transitioning between floors. First, the crunch of sticks and mulch, then the soft pounds on the grass..
Then the soaking of the mud around the cave.
Amarie didn't have to look out of the cave to see a large-adult Tyrannosaur, peeking into the cave. She could feel it's hot and stinky breath and it searched the head of the cave. Amarie covered Aj's mouth as she crouched behind a cold stone rock inside the cave. The Rex soon gave up, unsatisfied, and softly smashing it's head out on top of the cave as it left. Amarie peeked out the side of the rock and saw the tyrannosaur roaring in front of the bright and beautiful full moon.
