Preface
On June 11, 2018, a soon to be junior of Santiago High School lost her life. At approximately 2: 30 p.m., her father found his eldest child laying on the ground in her bedroom. Next to her was an empty bottle of Aspirin. She was wearing a dark green tank top and athletic shorts. Her father was well aware that this medication was consumed by his daughter a few months ago when she had a high fever. Her father rushed to her body and checked her pulse. It was faint, yet present. His body took in the scene and situation and underwent a psychological response that no parent wants to undergo. He called for his wife. The girl’s mother screamed in terror of the sight of her only daughter laying on the ground. Together, the girl’s mother and father rushed her to the hospital. They called 911. They called the nearest hospital. They called a friend, Mrs. Glazener. They called their son who was at swim practice. The young girl was admitted to the hospital at 3:04 p.m. The girl was pronounced dead at 4:38 p.m. Her cause of death is ruled as accidental suicide by overdose. She is survived by a mother, father, and a younger brother and leaves behind two loved ones: her best friend Josie and a lover of 8 months. The death of this girl will break and create strong bonds.
