I used to see him coming down the streets everyday, with his cream coloured half sleeve shirt and brown coloured pants. His just one nod was enough to tell me to do the job.

While i am shinning his shoes he used to tell me about the beautiful place called as school.. how he got stuck in a dilemma when the teacher caught his diary and so on...

But today it was something else...

As if he had transformed

As if all the glow in that plump cheeks was flourishing more and more... The usual dress replaced by a black T-shirt and a torn jeans. His aura radiating happiness...

Torn jeans?

Is he mimicking me today? I bet not. Usually he is the best customer I ever have. Cheery and helpful.

Maybe it is the day that people call it their birthday .. I thought I would suprise him with no charge today.

As I was finishing polishing his shoes, he took my hand and gave me the big 100₹ note.

Now where the hell will I get THAT much change? But his one nod to keep all of it changed.

Changed my aura too.

I do wonder now why people are not like him.. why is there so much hatred?.. why do people flinch to help others? ... Does a smile cost them so much?... Or is humanity still alive?
