Chapter 1
This is it, the moment I have longed to happen. There he was standing beneath the tree where I first saw him, the day his family moved in beside ours. I cannot contain my nerves. My heart keeps beating erratically. This is stupidly driving me insane, have I really gone mad falling for him? He’s everything I didn’t ask for yet why are there butterflies. Is this what falling in love feels like. If this is so, then I am completely doomed. Oh heavens, why does he look effortlessly good, from the way he sits, he radiates calmness, my kind of serenity. Although I have been mess since that fateful day, yet he’s still here, waiting for an answer that took me months to process. He’s everything I didn’t ask for but he’s still here, a close friend I could lean on. He doesn’t deserve to be left alone in the dark. That would be inhumane of me. He makes me feel secured, why did I haven’t realized it that slowly his feelings had made its way through me. Maybe it’s destiny’s way of telling me he’s worth the shot. He’s worth falling for. If I were to like someone back, I wanted it to be him. This feeling’s torturing me, I badly need to get this off my chest... He deserves an answer...

Three steps... just three steps... Heart, please stay calm, we don’t want to look foolish, don’t we. Time is running out. I have to say this, even if I might lose our friendship which took months to built. She’s worth it, I know it. She knows me better than anyone. She’s beautiful, the kind of beauty you’ll never wanna miss out. She understands me, I hope she still does.
Two steps... almost there, will everything still be normal for us? Will I still be able to see her smile? That kind of smile that brightens up my day. Her voice, will I be hearing her melodious voice that gives me words of encouragement.
One step, one final step, am I ready to face the consequences. Am I gonna lose her?

“Hey Lucy, may I borrow your book? I forgot mine”, our classmate Allyson asked her
“Here you go, Aly. Just give it back tomorrow”, she quietly answered.
“Thanks, Luce. Gotta go, oh hi, Andre”
“Hey Ally, Uh mm Lucy, do you have a minute?”
“There you are, Andre. I was looking for you. Mom told me your family will be dining with us tonight. Aunt Molly said there is an announcement to make so we need to be early. Do you know anything about that?”
“Yes, I’ve heard from mom...But hey I need to tell something, quite important actually.”
“Sure, what is it? You seem anxious. Loosen up”
“I cant seem to say it in an easy way without scaring you but it has been so long. Lucy, I like you. I have been admiring you...for 3 years.
