Chapter 1 - Intro
I sat at the dinner table slightly slumped over as I started to doodle on a blank peice of paper with a red crayon in my hand.
I wasnt really sure what time it was, but I didn't really care either.
Mom and dad have been fighting all day. The last thing I wanted was to be in their way.
I julted as my mother suddenly came bolting down the stairs screaming as tears streamed down her face.
I wanted to hug her, but I knew now wasnt the time.
Dad came running down the stairs after her. His face was bright red and you could tell that he was furious.
I squinted my eyes tightly shut and moved my head in the other direction as my mother approached me.
"I'm taking Allis with me!" She said as she yanked me out of my chair causing me to drop my crayon onto the floor.
Dad's eyebrows furrowed in anger.
"No your not! You can't take my child away from me!
"Your child? Last time I checked I was the one who gave birth to her!" She snapped as she began walking twords the front door dragging me along with her.
I wasnt sure what they were fighting about. All I knew was that I was hopeless. There was absolutely nothing I could do other than listen.
Still holding onto me she stormed outside grabbing the car keys on the way out right before slamming the door.
"Allis, get in the car." She said to me in a stern voice as she let go of my wrist and began walking to the drivers seat.
I didn't want to risk getting her anymore mad than she already was so I did as I was told.
I opened the car door and quickly got inside. As soon as I shut the door my mom got in and started the car up.
I was scared. Ive never seen her like this before. What could possibly be making her so mad?
Deciding not to say a word I buckled myself up.
Mom quickly pulled out of the drive way. Before I knew it we were driving away.
I couldnt help but to look back. What I saw devastated me.
Dad was standing at the entrance of the house watching us drive away. He had a sad expression on his face.
Once again, another expression I've never seen on either of my parent's faces.
