Prologue

Prologue

Ethlon ran down the streets of the city, not daring to look back. He ran so fast that he was merely a blur to all who beheld him. He closed his eyes, fighting the memory of what he just saw. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, NO! That couldn’t happen. That wasn’t supposed to happen. It just CAN’T have happened, he thought. But it did happen, and he knew it. And there was nothing that Ethlon could do about it. He was only 14. He had nowhere to go, nowhere to live. All he knew is that he had to get away from here…away from Him. Ethlon kept running, never slowing for a second. He ran from his friends and family. He ran from the place he had lived his whole life. He ran from everything and everyone he held dear. He ran for a reason. He had seen the impossible. The Dark Being had risen again. The Dark Being had destroyed his home. The Dark Being had killed his parents.
