Prologue
It was morning when the virus spread through my mother. I could hear her cries of pain. Her veins turned pitch black and her eyes were a vibrant bloodshot red.
I held her and told her that I was there for her and asked her if I could do anything to ease her pain. She nodded with a slite “no”.
My mother wasn’t the only one who had been infected by the virus. All of the people in our village fell ill around the same time. The virus didn’t only target people though. The land turned black and was dying. It was like a big scar around our little village.
The rivers ran black and were no longer drinkable. The animals either all died or mutated into something else, they don’t look like creatures of this world anymore. They look demonic, our whole village looks evil now.
The remaining few who were immune to the virus had taken it upon themselves to build a wall around our village, trapping the animals outside and trapping whatever becomes of our people inside.
A certain few had even put up a paper stating “sign if you are strong enough and courageous enough to leave our village and venture out to find a new home.”
