New Girl

The sound of the alarm sitting on my bedside table awoke me from my sleep. A dream I know will never be in my memories again. For once in my life, could anything get any more stranger then this?

Moving from California to New York seemed like a good idea...to my parents, but then again only me and mother were moving to New York because they had a divorce and were constantly fighting over me like I was a puppet. The amount of words spoken didn’t sound good to me and constantly made me sick with worry about the future.

This was my first day at my new college - 24th June 2020. I would be studying Business Management and hopefully get a internship or a full time job at a famous company. To everyone I would look plain - white heels, glasses, hair up in a ponytail, baggy pants with a white tank top, my over sized jumper on making me basically look like a freak.

I happened to be a study freak which was why my boyfriend of one month dumped me out of the blue for a girl who was more popular and wore better clothes. I at least wanted to try a day of being popular and cool but I couldn’t pull it off wearing this.

“Hey there” a girls voice said and I turned to see a red haired girl standing there near me, her blue eyes on me.

“Hi” I say as she walks to me and holds a hand out.

“My name is Rubi Andrews” she said and I take her hand in mine “Leila Adams” I say and she smiles before linking her arm with mine.

“From now on, we are best friends” Rubi said and I nod shyly “thanks” I say as she walks me to the front office to get what I needed. It turned out I was in the same classes as her and she was extremely happy about it.

As we walked into class, I noticed a guy sitting by the window typing away on his phone and I stopped Rubi and she looks at me as I point in the guys direction. She laughed and they guy looked up, locking eyes with me as he sported a smirk onto his face.

“That is Kaiden Stone, I wouldn’t go near him, he will try and get in your pants” Rubi said and I looked at her in disbelief “no!” I exclaimed and she nods and smiles.

“Don’t worry, he can be a big pain in my ass sometimes” she said and I looked at her “he has tried once or twice to get in my pants but he knows my boundaries” she added shrugging he shoulders before sitting down.

Sitting beside her, I looked around at the other students who looked at me as if I looked ugly and I do admit it, but I ignore them as I bring my books and pens out ready for the lecture to start.

The day looked up for me, Rubi walked me to the cafeteria and she kept going on about helping me get better clothes so we made plans to go shopping after school and then I was invited to a party at the Stone’s house and I knew I would run into Kaiden there.

After the boring day at school, I got into Rubi’s car and she drove to the mall, a place in which I loved to look at the clothes and wish I was cool enough to wear them. After a few hours of trying clothes on and deciding on what looked good, Rubi booked a hair and make up appointment and paid it for me.

“Tell your parents your staying at mine tonight, we are gonna have a slumber party with some friends” she said and I nod as I send a notice to my mother and she agrees.

“Now, we need to find clear contacts for you so you don’t need to wear the glasses” she said and handed me a case with clear contacts “there are ten pairs for you to use for the upcoming ten weeks” she added with a smile.

I was helped with the contacts as she holds my glasses and once my vision clears she gives me the thumbs up and the man told me that I had to take them out every night to avoid eye damage.

Once we got to Rubi’s place there stood three girls, one with black hair in which Rubi called Vanille Matthews, a blonde girl named Naila Aveen and a brunette girl named Kaitlin Jordan. They looked me up and down and Rubi tells them to back off as they did and we went inside and I was shocked off my shoes.

“Always the better house” Kaitlin said and the girls nodded “thanks, now we need to get ready for tonight’s party as well as giving Leila a total make over” Rubi said and Vanille smiles “make up is my true gift” she said and Naila nods “nails are my thing” and Kaitlin made a remark of hair is her thing.

I looked at the girl in the mirror, face full of make up, hair out and wavy, the brunette mixing with the red streaks Kaitlin added to my hair and my nails which were painted a pastel pink. Rubi walks to us and holds a dress.

“Time for the last piece of the puzzle” Rubi said and pulls me into the bathroom and makes me strip out of my clothes and pull on the new black lacy bra with matching underwear and then she slips the most gorgeous dress over my head.

Looking in the mirror, the dress had a slit that went to my hips, there was a type of material blocking the view to my underwear, the dress was strapless and had a low neckline to under the bra and the back was slightly lower then I expected. Black sparkly heels adorned my feet and Rubi hands me a Gucci purse that matched the attire.

“Now how does she look?” Rubi asks as the girls admire their work been done on me and I felt glad to be in my new skin.

Irene: Its the story revolves in the same kind of situation I was hoping abit more like the story of Jane's family, life of mx and Jane, like how is the relationship between Lynn and Caleb more. Shawna: I really enjoying reading this book, I read it twice back to back just in case I missed something lol. Mira & Devryan are actually perfectly fit one another, even when they tried to deny it. Walker of the Dark: Short but definitely intense and amazing. Rage and Aspen were amazing together and I am glad to see a woman who is strong, determined on what she wants and well connected as a bonus.
