Be brave for Lance. Do anything. That's what I told myself as I walked into Lance Lake's party. My crush. My friends were all busy, so I cane alone. The first thing I noticed was the noise. I could smell alcohol as well. I tried to dance and act normal, but it was just awkward. So I found myself heading into a random empty room, sitting down. "Hey! You're early." I looked who said that. Lance. He looked as cute as ever, and had 5 people behind him. "Doesn't matter though. I'm glad you decided to play, er-um what's your name again?" Lance asks embarrassed. "Del." I say dryly. "Right, Del. Well let's get ready for a game of Truth or Dare."
"Wait, I actually-" I start to say I didn't come to play, but then an annoying voice rings, "Can we just get on with it?" A red-head chick says. I know her. Penelope Munez. Head cheerleader. Annoying. "Then ask someone truth or dare!" Lance shots back, clearly annoyed by her impatience. "Lance," Penelope lowers her voice. "Truth or dare?"
"Truth." Lance responds.
"Who do you like? As a crush." Penelope winks.
"I don't actually like anyone right now," Penelope rolls her eyes. "Adam, truth or dare?" Lance asks to one of his buddies. "Dare all the way." Adam says.
"Go running around the party shouting, 'I'm a coward!'" Lance smirks. Adam shoots a glance of annoyance, but a few seconds later Adam leaves the room and we hear him shouting that, fillowed by laughter. Adam comes back, face red and hot. "Hate you," He mumbles. "Whatever. Del, truth or dare?" Adam looks at me.
"Dare." I want to show Lamce that I'm brave. "I dare you to kiss Riley Ice." The room goes quiet. Riley was also part of the truth or dare group, and was a cute girl. Not annoying like Penelope, but wasn't nerdy either. She had a fair tan and some brown freckles across her nose with long brown hair. We've shared a few words before. We weren't best friends, but we were friends. "Are you going to back out?" Adam asks. Everyone stares at me. "No." I reply. I walk over to Riley and mouth, 'I'm sorry'. Then I lean in and kiss her lightly on the lips. It was a blissful moment before I break away. Riley stares at me, but I try not to notice. "Lance truth or dare?" I quickly say to break an awkward silence. "Dare."
"I dare you to hold your arms above your head for 3 whole minutes."
"Easy." But 1 minute later Lance is begging us to let him stop. But of course we didn't. Through out the rest of the night, I sneak quick glances at Riley and I know she does the same. I don't know what I did by kissing her, but all I know is that I don't feel bad.
