Chapter 1
Many know I’m an Author but, not many know I’m disabled. However, I think that true disability is giving up when it’s not necessary. I have learned many languages throughout my life so, I’m not stupid. Also I have graduated from college and have published my own books. It’s good to know your limitations but, don’t let your disability decide who you are. I don’t know where I’m going with this book but, I do know I must show people that a disability doesn’t mean you’re helpless, after all I’m disabled and have a college degree. Someone I met who is also a writer said he wasn’t disabled, it was just the perception of others. What did he mean? Well, he had no arms, no legs and no handicaps. He didn’t let his disability set limitations and I will not to do that either.
Chapter 1 Why the positive outlook!
I guess I’m positive because I believe it takes a positive view to move on from a disability to getting ahead. Years ago I met a guy when I was younger who went by the name of Brett the Stub. Dad said “Here is someone you could look up to”! I said, “Are you famous?” And Brett told me, “Not yet but, I’m going to be. “Meeting this guy changed my life as I will tell more about later but, he changed the way I view a handicap and I hope this book will change your view too. I had a dream to learn a foreign languages I remember claiming to speak Spanish as a kid when I only knew a few words.
