I re-reading the E-mail I had just got about my application to Paris University, Dear Mrs. Caper We the Paris Board Commit Would Like To Welcome You To The University, You Shall Be Attending. I Hope You Except This Amazing Once In A Life Time Offer!
I feel my face getting hot and I dash outta my room focusing only on making it to the kitchen without stumbling. I make it, and shove my phone right in my moms face shouting as she reads it. " MOM I GOT IN!!"
I can see her eyes dancing over each word written perfectly on the E-mail. She looks up at me afterward grinning super wide. She sets down her spatula and bear-hugs me to the point where I can't breathe. "Ouch," I say.
She apologizes explaining that she's super happy for me and I gladly listen to her. A minute later Haddie snapchat's me sending me pictures of her dinner and homework, I, of course, do the exact same.
I wanted to tell her that I was excepted but I was too excited at that moment and I decided to let her wait till Monday morning.
Monday morning
wake up to a loud alarming sound blaring constantly in my ears. I moan and pick my head up slowly off my pillow glancing at my 6:00 am timer.
I slam my index finger down on it and it turns off, I moan trying to rub the tiredness from my eyes. I here mom snoring next-door nothing new.
I look through social media checking out insta. Twit. and Face. before jumping outta my bed. I start with my makeup and hair. My dirty blond hair gracefully streaming down the comb as I brush. Afterward, I apply some lipstick and a little bit of eyeshadow, BUT NOT TOO MUCH just enough to make me look good for another day of boring school.
I press my finger on my phone and glance at the time, 6:30 am I had an hour and a half before my bus came. I switch into my school clothes and fold my PJs on my bed. Gliding down the stairs, I stop and check myself out in the hall mirror. "Hair is on POINT, Makeup check and,....Outfit... Check" I straighten out my shirt and tye my long Rolling Stone T-shirt.
I walk into the kitchen my red sandals making squeaky sounds. I stopped infront of the cabinet grabbing the cereal from the top and the milk from the fridge. I moan once I set down the cereal and milk, " Damn it forgot about Hailey!!" I shout.
I stomp up the stairs and bang on her door, I hear banging noises as feet pitter patter against the hardwood floor. A minute later Hailey is standing in the doorway in her school clothes looking down at her phone. " What do you want?" She asks. I roll my eyes, " I don't want anything c' mon." I say. I turn on my heel to leave her so she could follow me toward the kitchen.
We enter together and move around like little mice in the kitchen grabbing what we want to eat and packing lunches. I keep watch as Hailey bus pulls up I turn to call for her but before I can she's already out the door.
I wait for a few minutes for my bus, it eventually arrives I lock the front door and head out, the wind blowing my hair every which way.
Rowdy kid faces look out the window, I feel my strides become smaller. I climb the dirty bus stairs and look at all the high-schoolers looking back at me.
I mind my business trying to search for Claire's freckled blond hair face. I didn't see it. I've been waiting for two whole days to tell Claire about me getting in. But since she wasn't here I couldn't.
The bus drives huffs and that's when I know I'm taking too long I quickly take one more glance around the entire bus, an open seat in the back of the bus. I scored an open seat plus one with a window.
"Could you hurry up?" The bus driver says, I nod and quietly watch as the people I pass turn their heads, I make it to my seat and settle into it.
Heads begin to turn back toward their conversations, and I know I've been saved. I didn't wanna have to share a seat or sit in the front because that's where the (SPECIAL) kids sit.
And plus it would just be absolutely weird, we make another stop before heading to Greg Higgens High-School.
The red-orangish brick house is covered with windows, with one big America flag in front along with all other country flags. The marble floors inside the school look as normal as last-year.
