The Bean Bakery
"Emmaline Bean Jones," her mother screamed, "you're going to be late and give your grandmother a heart attack! You've become so irresponsible lately."
As usual, Emmaline starts running through her house grabbing her last minute items such as her phone, house keys, and headphones and she screams back, " Grandma loves me! I'll make it up to her when I get there," opening the front door she yells one last time before leaving, "Bye, mom! Love you and I'll see you tonight for dinner. Alfredo would be fantastic," closing the door, she starts laughing. Every morning she has to fight against time to try and make it to her grandmother's bakery on time; if only she would wake up the first time her alarm beeps at her.
Emmaline heads to the side of her house to grab her cute white bike with an attractive wooden basket on the front of the handle bars with her grandma's bakery name carved in the front, The Bean Bakery. Her grandma's bakery is right on the edge of a beautiful wooded area where there were some houses right on the inside of the woods. They loved when she brought them some treats for them to choose from. Over the years she got to know everyone's names that lived in the woods and had built a great reputation for her grandma's bakery. People would come from all over for her homemade goods.
Hopping on her beautiful bike, she started to make her way to The Bean Bakery. The ride takes her about half an hour but she definitely thinks it's worth it so she has some time to think about her life and have some alone time. Riding her bike is extremely relaxing. Luckily, she never has to worry about getting off work late and having to ride in the dark since her grandma closes the bakery every day at 5:30.
Pulling up on the winding, remote road leading to the bakery, she takes in the beauty that the surrounding nature provides. The wind sways the trees slightly, giving her a feeling of lightness as she looks around. The cute, small, cottage looking bakery finally comes into sight and she can't wait to go in and see her grandma. Sure, she's going to get scolded for being late again but she knows her grandma won't be too harsh on her.
Emmaline hops off her bike and leans her bike up against the front of the building and heads inside to greet her grandma. Opening the door, she could hear the little chime the bell makes when someone walks in and starts to look for her grandma. She's not stocking the display cases at the front, nor is she at the register counting the money. She must be in the back getting the orders ready for the day.
Walking behind the counter, toward the back of the bakery, she calls, "grandma?" and not even a second later her grandma pops her head around the corner and says, " about time you showed up. Are you wanting to get me all riled up? Is that what you like to do, Bean? Getting a little old lady all flustered! You should be ashamed," she chuckles.
Emmaline rolls her eyes, smiles, and starts to gather all of the orders from the kitchen area of the bakery and heads to the front of the store toward her bike. Throwing the treats into her basket, she hops on her bike and waves goodbye to her grandma who stood at the front door watching her leave. With that, she starts her journey into the woods.
