In which we Begin Not to Understand
Your ambitions and goals, your desires and feelings, your hopes and your dreams. This is what you live for, this is what makes you, you. Now imagine all these things vanish in an instant while staying perfectly alive. Your life loses its meaning. Your days become bitter and parts of you die each day until you perish. This is what happened to my sister Rihan after a forced marriage and this is her story.
Destruction is simple, it happens in a matter of seconds or hours. Construction however takes time and effort. It it easy to bring down a wall but not so simple to build it. The person Rihan used to be was not built overnight. Her persona was shaped through experiences, hardships and by overcoming society’s obstacles. It took years for her to flourish into this wonderful woman whom joyfulness was extremely contagious.
