Chp. 1: Everything
She remembered waking up in her world. The first time she had opened her eyes she was greeted with green land. So much green and a blue with shining dots that sparkled. Stars. She knew things. Many things. The green was the grass and the blue was the sky and everything around her was her home.
“Welcome back Flower.” She could hear the corners of the voice’s mouth twitch up into a smile.
Who are you?
“I am Everything.”
Flower rose to her feet.
You are not everything. You are so much less.
There could be so much more than this wilderness. There could be civilization. There could be sentient life forms. There could be more than must blue and green.
“I should not have given you wisdom. You must deal with what you have, for I am everything you can ever get.”
Flower did not respond. She sat down and contemplated on Everything’s words. No matter what he said, he was not everything. He was a novice at World-Making. She was not Flower. Flowers were delicate and used only for reproduction of plants. They were valued for their prettiness. She was not a flower. She was so much more.
I am Everything. You are nothing without me.
“Bold of you to assume that.” She practically heard him smirking.
I am bold. Maybe Bold should be my name. Flower is an unsuitable name for me.
“You are horrible at naming.”
I got that trait from you.
“Rest now Flower.”
I will not rest.
“Your name should have been Stubborn, Unsentimental, and Irksome Infant.”
I am no child.
“You were literally born five minutes ago. Go to bed baby.” Suddenly a great lethargy descended on her and before she could react she had already passed out.
