Chapter 1

The lake in front of me had the clearest water that I have ever seen. The water wasn't just clear it had the most beautiful tint of blue to it. Then I noticed him and there he stood, a complete stranger, with his back towards me. There was something unsettling about the tensed muscles in his back. As if he was trying to protect something from himself.

Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep.

I wake up startled. I realize that was just a dream. A very good dream. So I smile to myself.

"Carly! You better be in front of me in 2 minutes!" Alpha Folsom shouts trough the the mind link. I run out the door of my room and I come to a stop in of the Alpha. He looks at me with disgust filled eyes. I wonder what my punishment would be.

You see my parents died moving to this pack. It was a complete blood bath. I was 10 years old at the time. We were on our way to The Red Blood River pack when 3 rogues attacked us. My father took on two of them while my mom took the one charging towards me. I watched as my father took out the last rogue he was fighting, he then moved towards me. He was critically injured so with his last few minutes of his life he told me that he loves me and that I am stronger than I think I am. I shouted at him with tears running down my face. My mom felt his passing and that weakened her enough for the rogue to kill her. I ran to her screamed out for her to stay alive but she said " I love you my little fire girl!" I said "I love you too Mom. Always" As I watched the life leave her eyes my eyes flood with my tears.

The rogue then gave me a feral smile and charged at me. I stood up and ducked out of his reach and jumped on his back and I teared his throat open. I jumped off leaving him for death to collect.

Then alpha Folsom found me and basically arranged for me to stay with a old woman named Daffodil. She was sweet and warm and she raised me like her own child seeing as she couldn't have children because she had no mate and she was to old to have one now.

I stood with my head held high in front of alpha Folsom. Alpha Folsom clears his throat. "Carly what do you have to say for yourself about the events that occurred yesterday at noon?"

I make my voice boom with pride and I say "Alpha I was walking past your son Sheldon Folsom. Just before I passed him he grabbed my butt and I slapped his hand away. Then he challenged me to a fight and we fought, but then he decided to play dirty and he kept saying things like I wasn't good enough for anyone in the pack and that I would never find a mate because I am uglier than a frog. That's when I snapped and charged at him. He was unprepared and I got him to the ground and I was about to punch him when he tried to grab my breast. So I broke his arms and knocked him out. "Alpha Folsom replied " Well. What you did was unnecessary and you should be punished. " I growled at him. He growled back at me trying to make me bow to him, but I didn't give into the power that was oozing out of him. Hell would freeze over before I bow to him. He quickly understood that I would never bow to him so he saw that as disrespect and in his pack your punishment for disrespect was either death, exile or lashings. He boomed his voice over me and said "You have until tomorrow at dusk to pack your things and say goodbye to Daffodil. At dusk you will leave this pack and never come back. You are officially exiled."

I was sad to leave Daffodil but then I was happy because I was leaving this place that kept me out of sleep most of the time.

I ran to my room and started packing my clothes into my blue duffle bag. First I packed clothes then some other stuff that I couldn't leave behind.

When the night came I ate my last dinner with Daffodil. She was torn but I couldn't do anything so I told her "I will be fine. I can take care of myself now and don't worry about me you should take care of yourself okay." She smiled at me and nodded her head yes.

I didn't really sleep much due to the fact that I would be a rogue in less than 15 hours. At 6 o'clock I sat down and ate my last breakfast with Daffodil. I could see the sadness on her face. So I finished the pancakes that was for breakfast. I went back to my room and finished packing my things. Once I was done I went and spent most of my last day with Daffodil. We played around making the most of the time we had left. As the last light of the day started fading away I picked my bag up and I said my goodbyes to Daffodil and then I was escorted to the border of the territory and then I felt the emptiness creep in as the mind link was cut forever. I was officially a rogue. I was the very thing I vowed to kill. Now I can't kill myself because I am a rogue. So I left New York and made my way to somewhere new.
