New Girl
Sunshine Aubrey Jones has lived up to her name all her life. Spreading happiness, being optimistic, and never really getting upset.
That changed when her family came upon the topic of college.
Voices rose, Dishes thrown, Names were called, but most of all dreams were damaged.
Not broken.
Damaged.
Sunny ran up to her room in tears, slamming her door and throwing herself onto her bed as she sobbed. How could they have been so horrible towards her for trying to follow her dreams? She had wanted to go into singing, acting, and modeling, hoping to be the next sensation. She practiced her signatures so that they were perfect, made sure to always be natural in everything she does, always having a smile so that it fit her face perfectly for the cameras.
She tried so hard, but she did know that her parents were slightly against it. Taking away her microphone when she would sing and not letting her have any kind of social media or internet. Oh there were warning signs alright, but she didn't think it would conclude to them practically banishing her from going to the college of her dreams and saying that she would never make it. They had been so loving and doting on her, being the only child helped, but they had never acted this way.
Sunny flipped over and grabbed her phone, taking a deep breath before unlocking it and reading the words that were across the screen.

Sunshine couldn't help the small smile that graced her face and was illuminated in the darkness of her room. She got accepted to the school of her dreams, 'But your parents would never approve.' Her subconscious added unhelpfully, but she couldn't help but agree with it, it was right after all, if the screaming and fighting was any sign. She clicked the power button and put the phone on charge, she closed her eyes and stared into the endless darkness with one thought making multiple scenarios in her head.
' I wonder what they would've said if I told them that I had already made it in and that they were expecting her in 4 months?'
