Chapter 1

Ray was in the kitchen whipping up a dessert for a customer it was absolutely gorgeous. When she finished putting the last touches to it she stepped back and admired her work. She smiled and told the maid it was ready, she came in and took it then disappeared through the swaying doors.

Ray was anxious to found out what the customer thought about her dish.

The maid came back and told Ray to come out and meet the customer, so she did.

She walked over to the customer and smiled politely, once the customer saw Ray he started babbling.

“This dessert is absolutely gorgeous the way the flavors blend in together is perfect, and mmmm! Here’s my card we could use someone like you in our restaurant... Oh where are my manners I am joey I actually own the restaurant just around the block, it’s called....“.

Ray looked at his card and sighed, “Well thank you I’ll be sure to drop by, whenever I”m free” she gave him a small smile. He chuckled and nodded, “That’s good to hear”.

“Anyways enjoy your meal, I’ll have to get back and continue these orders” she smiled and walked away. In her head she was upset, people like him always came to her and told her that they could use her, but she liked working here. She stuffed the card in her apron and went back to work.

*Several hours later*

Ray sighed and opened her door, and stepped into the dark living room. She closed the door with her foot and then turned on the lights. She pulled some ramen out of the pantry and got to make it. When the ramen was done and hot, Ray sat down at the table and ate with chopsticks. She sighed and hurried to finish eating. Once she was done she put her bowl in the sink and walked to her bedroom. She opened her door and stumbled in and faceplanted on her twin-size bed, and fell asleep.
