Chapter 1
COCO’S was the newest, hottest, hip hop joint in LA. The music was loud and the patrons were, or a least they thought they were, above the law. Everybody who was anybody in the Hollywood scene could be found there. Everybody who wanted to be a superstar tried to get into this elite club. The stars were always out at COCO’S. The clientele ranged from the newest and hottest to the most notorious . The music was often that of the patrons and was the club owners way of stroking the artists egos. The dance floor was full of those in love and those wanting to be noticed. If you weren’t on the list, the price to get in was steep. Very steep, this kept the bangers from getting in, you needed bread and a lot of it! This didn’t bother Meri, her boss saw to it that she had everything she needed. Meri had taken great care to prepare herself for this task. The dress, the stillotos, her hair, her makeup, and her jewelry was perfect for this job. Tonight she pulled out all of the stops. The limo driver that she had hired was given very specific instructions to stay close by and be ready to leave as soon as she came out. The driver had worked with Meri before and Meri knew that she could rely on him to follow all instructions explicitly. With great confidence Meri acknowledged Fuller, her chauffeur, as he opened the door for her. Giving him a smile as she slid out of the back Meri reminded Fuller that she would need him quickly as soon as she exited the club. Fuller nodded with complete understanding. Meri’s long sable hair swaying gently as she confidently and gracefully stauntered past all of the groupies wanting to be let into the exclusive club. Meri was treated with the utmost attention by the doorman at COCO”S. Her tight sequined black dress glittered in the lights as it hugged her curves better than a Lamborghini hugs the road. The men ogled uncontrollably as the women became envious. Meri stood a full six feet tall and her luscious legs seemed to go on forever. Her bronze skin, sable hair and perfectly applied makeup gave her the illusion of mystery and intrigue that every woman dreams of having and every man dreams of conquering.
As she walked in and looked around, she saw Chris Brown and his entourage in the far corner behaving like wild animals yelling back and forth with Drake and his rowdy slew of friends. “Soon she thought, soon.” Her eyes slid past Miley Ray Cyrus and her new hubby, “Have fun.” she thought as she observed them grinding on the dance floor. Knowing exactly what was in store for their future. Meri’s eyes pierced the smoky fog that filled the bar, searching , she knew she would find him here….”Ahhh, there he is, she thought to herself, watching as his head bent snorting a line right there in front of the world to see. Meri sighed. “They never learn.” she thought. She watched him inhale the coke in slow motion. As she did so the tiny micro crystal’s floated into his nose. Meri could feel the intense changes taking on inside his body as the drug began its job of creating a delusional euphoria. She stood up a bit taller than her towering six foot frame, shook her rich shining mane of hair so that it hung to her waist in an abundance of waves, like an inviting river of chocolate. She tilted her head slightly to the left, dawned a seductive smile and sauntered over to K Cobra’s table, her hips swaying in a manner that would make Shakira jealous. As she approached, K’s lakkies elbowed each other and began pointing at Meri making obscene gestures. Meri’s icy gaze caught them, freezing them in their tracks. Her gaze returned to K Cobra, intent and searing, her form fitting dress accenting her assets more with each step. Meri stopped right beside K Cobra as he finished his line of cocaine. Raising his head to embrace the vision of loveliness, his heart faltered. Here was the woman of his dreams! His Venus de Milo. The epitome of the perfect beauty in the flesh. K felt his loins quicken as he undressed her with his eyes. “I’m K Cobra.” He slurred slightly as the coke began taking over his senses. “The K is for King, King Cobra. Just like the snake and just as deadly too.” He boasted in arrogance. Believing himself to be the most wanted man alive, he envisioning himself embroiled in a hot dance of lust and carnal desires with this voluptuous vixen. Reading his mind, Meri slowly leaned forward exposing her captivating cleavage and whispered in his ear,”I’m Meri, short for Merideath.”
His breath ragged, K reached to grab of the forbidden fruit as Meri slid in next to him. Her eyes burning into his soul. She could feel him melting more with each halting breath that he took. She slowly licked his face as she did so she slid her hand over his crotch. “Mmmm… “ She murmured. Her tongue flicked his earlobe causing his body to tremble. A deep throaty chuckle resonated through Meri’s full tender lips that were now brushing lightly on his. She nipped at his lip as she whispered in an intimate rich steamy voice,”My car is waiting . Let’s go.”
Mesmerized, K stood up and followed Meri like a lost puppy. His crew following in like pursuit began falling all over themselves trying to stand up as to go with them. Meri quickly turned and in a harsh yet husky voice commanded, “No! You stay here. It’s not time for you yet.” Believing that they would get their turn to enjoy the delightful morsel that hung on their bosses arm and accepting the pecking order of the pack they tumbled back into their spacious booth allowing K Cobra the first reaping of the choicest fruit that they had laid their eyes on in a very long time. Then turning to K, Meri took his hand in hers and led him across the dance floor, weaving themselves through couples whose bodies kept beat with Lady GaGa’s “Bad Romance” . As they neared the exit Meri glowed with excitement. “This is going to be spectacular” she thought. As they exited the door Meri could feel the energy filling the air. The electricity almost sparking as the paparazzi stood waiting like the sharks they were. The cameras began flashing at the new star and the unknown beauty. Meri stopped and posed with K Cobra, leaning in on him in a show of possession. Her body speaking volumes, creating the calculated deception of a wild and steamy night ahead. King Cobra, himself played along, knowing that these pics with the beautiful bronze skinned Goddess as her long satin tresses were blowing in the gentle breeze would be on the front pages of every entertainment rag in town by morning. He would be the most talked about artist in town. Yes, he was going to play these leeches for all the free publicity he’s could get, because everything in Tinsel Town has a price! Everyone was wanting to know who he was banging now and where did this unknown beauty come from? Meri’s golden green eyes glinted as they approached her limo. She seductively tossed her wavy locks over her shoulder so that the paparazzi could get one great last shot of the duo climbing into the special edition limo. The limo itself was a vision of loveliness, a stretch with tinted windows. Inside the leather upholstery was white and there was a fur lined lap blanket folded neatly on the edge of the seat. Champagne filled the cooler and Waterford crystal glasses were waiting to be filled.
“Some ride you got, Boo.” K said as his eyes slid over the interior of the limo. This definitely was going to be his best night ever! The ride, the booze, he even spotted an assortment of pills in a candy dish! “This Meri sure knows how to treat a man.” He thought. “I could get used to this.” Just one more thing on K’s mind as he reached out and tried to grab Meri’s breast.
“I know.” She laughed gently. “I do like this one.” Meri whispered as she gently pushed K’s hand down from her breast. Her eyes flicked up to the inquiring eyes of the chauffeur. An unspoken directive was exchanged. The limo turned sharply and sped up as she enquired,”Have you ever thought of dying?”
“When I go out, I’m going in style” came the sinister reply.
“Seriously.” She asked as she wiggled closer to him, “how do you want to die?”
“Oh, Boo, why this chatter? I just wanna get my groove on” K whined as he once again reached for her firm ripe breast.
“I know Bea.” Meri whispered with bated breath as she pressed closer , almost on top of K now. “I just want to know more about you. Then we can have all the time in the world to play.”
“Fine!” K growled as he flopped back against the seat much like a spoiled child. “I guess I wanna go like Tupac, ya. You know like a gansta’”
“How fitting” Meri mummers in his ears. Then glancing up into the rear view mirror she once again locked eyes with Fuller, the driver, and nodded slightly. Fuller responded with a curt nod and made yet another sharp turn taking them to a very secluded spot where no one lived. It was then that the bullets began to fly and smoke filled the car while gunpowder singed his nostrils as King Cobra struggled for his last breath. Shock and fear contorted the face of King Cobra as the light slowly faded from his eyes. Merideath firmly took King Cobra’s hand and said,”Interview completed. Job accomplished.” She then led King Cobra AKA Bobby James Anderson into the flames of Hell.
As Meri sat on her poach the next morning, she sipped on her herbal tea from her black Eskimo Joe’s mug while reading all about King Cobra. He was now the most definitely talked about rap artist in not only LA but the entire country. His picture was on the cover of every rag and magazine not only today but for the weeks to come. Meri smiled to herself, “Job well done” she thought. She knew that there would be inquiries as to why King Cobra was alone in an unregistered limo at the time of the murder. Where and who was the woman that was seen getting into the limo with him? Why was he headed into an abandoned cemetery? Who did this? The enigma of the entire scenario would baffle investigators for years to come. Answers never came for the family of Bobby James Anderson. As for the chauffeur as well as the mysterious beauty, they were never found.
