Chapter 1- The Night Out

I shouldn't have gone out that night. I shouldn't have gone to that club. I shouldn't have drank that much. Or I wouldn't have met him.

I slipped on my pink fur coat atop my silky, white, spaghetti strap dress. It took me a few minutes to figure out which pair of heels worked best with my outfit, but I finally picked out a white pair. My flower crown looked a little crooked, so I fixed that as well as my brown hair before stepping out the door.

My phone vibrated and started blaring my ringtone, signaling someone was calling. I answered. "Yes, Jasmine? Yes...I'm just now stepping out the door...and now I'm leaving the entrance...and now I'm in my car, fixing to drive to Sydney's. Yes I'm on my way!" I hung up, rolled my eyes, and drove off. Sydney's was the name of the club Jasmine and the girls and I were fixing to party at.

When I pulled up, I stepped out of my vehicle and walked to the door. The bouncer smiled. "Evening, Ms. Eleanor," I smiled back.

"Hi George. Good to see you!" He grinned before holding the door for me. "Thank you!" I may be 22, but I sometimes act really submissive, to be honest. AKA, I got the mind of a child. Don't you dare say a word about it…

Immediately I was greeted by Jasmine and the girls. "HEEEEEY!" they all said in sync. I noticed Jasmine stumbling a little as she made her way to me. I could tell she'd already been drinking, which upset me a little that she didn't wait for me.

"You started without me?" I asked. She frowned playfully.

"You took too long!" I rolled my eyes and followed her to the bar.

"THE PARTY HAS STARTED!" Jasmine shouted as she threw her hands into the air, grabbed the shot glass off the bar, and took a swig. All the girls cheered, except for me. I sat on the ONLY open stool and motioned the bartender over.

"Hey Eleanor. The usual?" I looked at Marcus and nodded. He grabbed a glass and filled it with my favorite, a bourbon on the rocks.

"Thank you Marcus," he nodded and smiled sweetly. Marcus was my favorite. He was the sweetest and to be honest, I thought he was kinda cute. But he was married, so I never crossed the boundaries. His daughter was beautiful though, and he showed me pictures whenever I was there.

"I go on break here in a minute or so, I'll meet you back here?" I nodded and Marcus stepped away from the bar. He came back a few minutes later, as promised. "Eva's birthday was last week," he proudly pulled out his phone and showed me a picture of a 4 year old, blonde girl wearing a yellow sundress.

"Aw!" He flicked through all the pictures and my heart melted at each one. "You're daughter is adorable," I held my heart as I said this, which made Marcus happy. He grinned back at the pictures like the proud dad he was.

"Aw crud, I gotta get back in there. It was good seeing you Eleanor. See you later, hopefully," he chuckled a little before getting up and stepping back behind the bar. I sighed and took a sip of my drink. I didn't really hang out with the girls, but boy did I drink a lot. And I mean A LOT.

I decided to walk home instead of drive. I was stumbling through the streets, trying to remember the way back to my apartment but eventually, I got lost. I remember looking around trying to figure out where I was before accidently running right into someone.

"Oh...I'm s- *hic* so sorry," my head was getting dizzy and I fell back into the silhouettes arms.

"Are you lost?" a deep voice asked. I managed to nod up at him. I saw a sharp, toothy grin before passing out.
