Fallen!
Present:
"Noah Edwards! ",people know him either as an opulent hunk or as a smart CEO of the top-class company that rules the rest all in the city of New York.He's a complete business-minded,hubristic and very arrogant person.His past is always a hidden treasure. The whole world is curious to know what it actually is, that turned him apathetic.But no one knew what happened, but him. He used to be a cool-minded,energetic and always smiling youngster.But now,everything's changed....
Noah's POV:
"Excuse me sir!",a sharp and a blunt voice has brought me back to the actual world.I quickly turned around and found my P.A who was about to convey a message. He moved to his left, trying to introduce someone and said ,
"Sir, she's our new employee, Angeli Stewart"
I was kind of shocked seeing her again after two years.It is unforeseen.My brain stuttered for a moment and my eyes took in more light than I expected, every part of me goes on pause while my thoughts catch up.My jaw dropped to the floor seeing her and I know the feeling on the other side will be quite as mine.This is totally unexpected. I was literally standing by the time I saw her and my P.A left the place soon. It was the same person I loved. And.......
Flashback:
Two years earlier,one fine night.....
I was in a deep sleep and my phone suddenly started ringing. It displayed an unknown number. I picked up my phone and......
Me: Hello...... ( In a sleepy tone)
?????? : .............
Me: Hello(raising my voice) .... Who's this?
?????? : .............
Me: Who the hell are you disturbing me at this hour?(I yelled at him in a harsh tone)
???????: Guess who?(I heard a base voice on the other side...)
Me: Steve!..... Oh my God! You? It's been a very long time since we spoke to each other. How are you man?
Steve: I'm good.Would you like to have a surprise Mr.Noah Edwards ?
Me: Steve ! Are you here?( With lots of excitement)
Steve: Just come out and open your door...man!These cold breezes are taking my head away.
Me: Holy.......!( I jumped off my bed and rushed to open the door)
I saw him outside waiting for me. He wore a black jean with a matching white t-shirt and a brown jacket on it. He's looking just the same way he was before.It was an year since I saw him.He moved to the other town along with his dad on some business purpose. He's my thickest friend with whom I've been all through my life, right from my childhood. I shared almost everything with him and he's our family friend too.
As soon as I opened the door, I crushed him in a tight hug since I missed him very badly. I was very happy to see him after a long time. Later,we both went inside. He told me that he returned that evening from his town and my father informed him that I was here.By the way, my dad,Mr.Robert Edwards is a business man in the same city of New York. He also said that he has been waiting to meet me and he's gonna do his masters here along with me.
"Oh! Man! That's fantastic!", I said smirking.
Our admissions were all done and we were about to do our masters in "Cornell University", which is well known /popular for business management and the field of computer science. It was here,the same place in New York where we used to roam all over the streets when we were students.We always loved this place where lots of good memories had their birth.
It was the first day of college. We were very excited because we can meet lots of new people, each being unique. Coming to us ,we seriously decided to find our true love at least then because we were always quite students until then. We felt it would be useless and a complete shame if we remain as the same stupid kids. Steve was a playboy whereas I was pretty decent. But,we thought of doing all the naughty things together in every way possible.
Steve stays along with me since we were relatives. We were brought up together. We were very close and our mentalities are so similar that every stupid thing that runs in my mind, simultaneously runs inside his brain. We used to share every single thing. It was about a week since we were going to the college but we felt it nowhere interesting.
One fine day, we woke up late in the morning and so we got up hurriedly and moved to the college. We've got a strict professor for our first hour that day. We were standing outside busy in planning something to get rid of our professor's tantrums. Steve ,being mischevious pushed me inside without my intervention. He began laughing outside and I was dumbstruck when the professor began staring at me with his broad red eyes. I understood that he was about to showcase his temper tantrums. I remained silent trying to bear all his anger. Steve ,on the other side was laughing outside and seemed as if he was about to die of laughter.
After my professor was done, Steve slowly entered the room as if he's the most eligible innocent and then stayed by my side. I gritted my teeth and sighed him as if I'm gonna kill him that day. The entire class was laughing at us...." Sorry ! At me!"....
There I found a girl , laughing the same way as others were doing. She was wearing a blue jean and a pink crop top with a shrug over it. She had her hair curled and was falling over her shoulders. I began staring at her. In order to avoid me from acting weird in front of everyone in the class,Steve patted me with his shoulder to bring me back to my senses. He then began smirking at me.
I sat right beside her ,while Steve on my other side. The whole day,I gazed at her. I felt she's kind of someone I knew and is familiar with.I discerned that there must be a serious connection between us. In the meanwhile, after all our schedule was done,I rushed to find her. I at least wanted to find out her name. As a true friend,Steve followed me. We later found her in a car, but she was already moving by the time we reached there. I was disappointed a little.
We then took our car and went home. I was very anxious to find out who this person is and why I was feeling her familiar. I started describing her the whole night which he might have felt bored a little but it doesn't matter anyways and so unknowingly,we slept.It's 2 am by the time I woke up.I was not able to sleep and I haven't experienced this earlier.I never cared when people talked about love and the magic in it.But now,I think it's something beautiful and endearing.Her picture blew me away.I was not able to get rid of her sparkling eyes that caught mine that morning.Thinking about her,I pretended to sleep though I knew I couldn't.....
It was the next day, and this time we attended the college very early as I wanted to find and talk to her. We sat in our usual places and began waiting for her.
"There she arrived!" ,Steve uttered and I quickly raised my head and unknowingly I got a smile on my face. She sat in the same place,beside me.
This man,who's ready to drown my self-respect,tried to play his cheap tricks. I somehow avoided them and stared at her in an intention to speak. But for a change, the girl smiled at me.......
I quickly extended my hand and said,
"Hey!I'm Noah Edwards and.... How about you?"
"You'll get to know soon....",this was her answer with an added smile.
It's the fixed answer she gave me every time I poked the same question. The same thing happened for a week.I'm not bored with the usual stuff that went on between us, but I actually enjoyed it. We both looked ,sometimes smiled at each other during the lecture but I kept on asking the same question myself...
"Who the hell is she? Why am I feeling her close?"
I always wanted to talk to her ,spend my time for her. I know I've been falling for her but doesn't know what this feeling actually is.
One day, our dad informed us that he had a get together arranged at home. So, he wanted me and Steve to be ready by the evening for the party.Both of us planned to wear formal suits and very quickly we got ready for the party. I was obviously busy thinking about her......whereas Steve's waiting if he could find some pretty girl there.
The hall was filled with businessmen all over with their families. We were introduced to lots of top class professionals. We felt little bored and awkward at that moment since we haven't found anyone of the same age.We pity each other for being in this position. Then our dad,Mr. Robert Edwards called us again. Reluctantly,we went. He introduced us to his dearest friend Mr. Charles Stewart and we gave him a fake smile.
But there entered someone who grabbed our attention completely. She's a girl almost of the same age as ours '. We can't see her face since she was busy talking to someone and her back faced us. We looked at each other with a question mark filled face to find out if at least one of us knew who this girl is... But we had no idea about her.
But ,then Mr. Stewart,grabbed her hand introducing her as his daughter,
" Angeli Stewart".....
We were dumbfounded looking at the girl,since she's the same person I've been trying to talk with. We were flabbergasted for few seconds. She extended her hand and introduced herself again. She then smiled at us as if she already knew us as Mr. Edwards sons.Steve was still in shock whereas I tried to get out of it....
She was wearing a red knee length dress with her hair neatly tied into a bun and surely she looked magnificent. She is so beautiful that I was not able to take my eyes off her. All this looked strange because I've never behaved this way before. Later dad asked us to take her along with us and so we did.
Finally, I succeeded in finding her name. We began walking and Steve stayed in the same place just to give us some privacy.We spoke for a very long time and it seemed as if we've become good friends now.Finally,I decided to tell her what I was feeling for her.I swiftly blocked her way and started speaking with a low shivering tone,
"Hey! Angeli ... I'm impressed.I like the way you smile,I like the way you talk, I like the way you behave and altogether, I like you.
I .. I .. I .. I think I've fallen for you...."
She raised her head and looked deep into my eyes and said,
"Is this the first time you've fallen for me?"....
I didn't understand what she was talking about.I took a few seconds to realize something.....
"You're .... A N G E L ........ Oh My God.... Is this really you?",I gasped out loud after getting to know that she's my childhood friend. Moreover,she's not just a friend. I always liked her and had a secret crush on her.I think she too knew all that. We were neighbors few years ago.I used to like it spending my time with her. Our dads were friends and she used to stay in our house sometimes and moreover she's my mom's favorite.
But,she left me soon when her dad moved his business to another place.I really missed her these years.But ,this is totally strange.While I was getting back to the memories we had, she held her hands along her waist which again reminded me of the poster she used to maintain when she got to talk something with me.She then raised her brow and said,
"Yes! I'm the same person,Angeli Stewart, whom you were habituated to call as your Angel.....I'm glad you remembered me. Otherwise,I might have not hesitated to kill you idiot..."
Yeah!She calls me an idiot all the time and of course I like it being called this way.I had a smile of satisfaction on my face and replied,
"That was the first time I've fallen for you Angel...."
And.....
"This is the second time........"
I saw her blushing.Both of us were happy with this and the first person to reveal this will be obviously Steve. So I rushed to him and said everything. He's very happy for me.
The party went on well and everybody enjoyed except Steve .He's still searching for a girl who suits him. If the same continues,he will be flying around with a 'single' tag all through his life... haha...
After the party was done,everyone vacated and she too left along with her dad.Later, time went on so fast that the two years of our masters flew away very easily and our love has gone deep. We've become the dream couple in the college.Our love was mutual,so there were no clashes in between and I enjoyed every moment she stayed with me.
Everything was fine until then,but one fine day,I got a call from her.Firstly,I thought it's a usual one.But....It's not....
She called me in a hurry and said that they were leaving for Australia and it's very urgent.She told me that there's no scope of meeting at that moment and hung the call.She neither has given me a chance to speak nor listened to me. I didn't understand what actually has happened and I was in a complete shock. I sensed her tears and pain in her voice,but doesn't know what happened there.
It's excruciating when someone you love, leaves you alone.I went on depression.I did nothing and used to hate everything.Steve stayed by my side all through. Finally,after taking two years of time,I along with Steve has set up a company and was finally succeeded as a young CEO of a reputed company. But,the old Noah never returned.I stayed calm,pretended to be happy in front of my parents and wore a fake mask on my face.
But,the only thing that kept on haunting me in constant in these years is...
"Why did she leave me?"
I asked myself this unanswered question many times.
Present:
I kept on staring at her,just like I used to do it earlier.I never expected that I would meet her again.Because I've got no signs of her in these two years.I only wanted to know what separated us...and what made her move far away from me...
I observed tears rolling down her cheeks.She looked as if she too missed me.I neither had anger nor hated her, but only had some questions to be answered... Days passed and there's no conversation between us.She has now become a good employee in my company.We had a space filled between and that's stopping us from being one.We moved like strangers ...
Steve kept his eye on everything that's going on between us .He knew me well than anybody else.He is aware of how deeply I've loved Angeli... and how I suffered her absence. He stayed with me just like he does every time.
One day,while Steve is having his shower,I attended his phone call after it has rung three times.It was a lady from the other side. Soon ,I understood that it was Angeli and checked out the call list and the messages between them. There were frequent calls and messages.There!I found something messy going on around. They've discussed something about why she left and why she hasn't come again.There were also some well-wishers messages about me.This time,I wanted to ask Steve everything that happened these two years.He acted as if he knew nothing about Angeli in these two years.
"What made him hide everything from me?"
As soon as he had his shower, he came out and was shocked seeing me standing with his phone in my hand.I asked him,
"What happened to Angeli...Why hasn't she come to meet me in these two years?
You...You know something?
Or else,is everything just a game?
Did she really love me?
Com-m on... Tell me Steve....I'm dying here...."
After few seconds,Steve kept on speaking,
"Relax .... Noah! Angeli always loved you and is still been in love with you...She never cheated on you and will never ever do that......
Her father had a serious problem in his business and so they had to move from New York.They were really in a bad situation then.She cried a lot and only I know how critical her situation was.
She wanted to meet you,tell you everything... but she couldn't make it. Now ,their family is good.But,she missed you very badly....",he ended.....
"But...why to hide everything from me?She must have told me all this...",I asked at a quick glance.
Steve smirked at me and replied,
"She hasn't come to you because,she doesn't want to disturb you in your life at a time where you were about to succeed.She came to meet you once,but you were in a good position and she don't want to drag you back.I saw her ,but she denied to meet you and asked me to keep up everything a secret.
Every time she calls me,the first thing she speaks about is YOU!
She always strived for your good.And this time,she's in your company,but you're just treating her as a stranger!I know it hurts you...but she's feeling more pain than you .....
She still loves you Noah!........"
I had a tear escaped from my eye listening all this.I'm happy,she loves me....
I stood all of a sudden and Steve held my hand suddenly. He asked me,
"Noah!Do you still love her?"
I smiled at him and said,
"This is the third time falling for her!"
Saying this, I moved very quickly to reach the place where Angeli resides since I couldn't stop myself from talking to her after knowing that she still loves me.I stood outside the door and rung the door bell.I was desperate to see her and slowly she opened the door.She was literally shocked seeing me at this hour.I decided to propose her again and began saying,
"Hey Angel! I think..... I've fallen for you again!.... Huff!"
I found her misty-eyed listening to me.Taking a few seconds,she raised her head and smiled at me saying,
"FALLEN THRICE ?
You........ Idiot!........................"
She hugged me very tightly expressing how badly she missed me.
Finally,a happy ending has arrived and this love has tied two pure souls together......
