I’m standing in class adding the final touches to my three tier cake as the timer goes off signaling that times up, stepping back I look at my cake pleased with my work. Today is the last day of class before our short two week break, so we’re taking a test we had twelve hours(5am-5pm) to finish a three tier cake decorated for one of the four seasons. Mr.McArthor gave me spring and I was glad because I already had a sketch that fit perfect.
For my flavors I used chocolate,vanilla,and strawberry one for each layer with a buttercream frosting that I used to glue the fondant to the cake. I used a white fondant for the background and a light brown fondant to make into a tree branch sprouting pink and purple flowers with light green leaves. Adorned with hot pink and orange butterflies with two light pink doves looking at each other from the top and bottom tiers.Mr.McArthor takes a small cut from each layer after I take a photo for memory he smiles as he eats each flavor “Ms.Jackson your cake is delicious and beautiful as always,though there’s to much buttercream icing for the fondant to cling to the cake properly next time use a bit less.” He says with a kind smile. I nod and smile “ Yes sir, thank you.”
Class is over now and I’m finally free for the next two weeks from work and school.Since it’s a culinary school it’s different then college. I love school and my job isn’t bad but sometimes I just need a break Claire and me both took the same two weeks off but she goes to college for business so she has a longer break then me but I’ll finish school before her. Tomorrow is July 8th which is my 19th birthday so we’re going to a club here in Los Angeles even tho we’re under age we have fake ID’s to get us in and get us drinks. I lost in a game of Yahtzee to Claire so she gets to pick my costume for tomorrow I’m going as Harley Quinn because I have bleach blonde hair and am pale like her, Claire is going as Poison Ivy because she has light auburn hair similar to Poison Ivy’s.
Tonight we’re going shopping for our costumes at a store known for its very sexy costumes and Claire’s paying for everything as her present to me. I’m climbing into my teal 2014 corvette stingray that my dad gave me as a graduation present,as my phone dings with a text from Claire “Hurry the store closes at 7!” I type her a quick text back “On my way!” laughing at her excitement. I pull out of the parking lot stopping for gas and grabbing a bottle of apple juice my favorite,I’m home my 5:30 pulling in the driveway of our small two bedroom house that we share I grab the cake out of the back smiling as Claire opens the door for me already knowing is have the cake with me. I set the cake down and hurry to get changed as she sits on my bed “ How’d the test go babes?” she asks, “I put a little too much icing under the fondant but other than that he loved it.” I say back pleased with my skills. Ready to go we head out the door choosing to take my care because Claire loves it and hates driving.
It’s 6:30 as we get to the store and we hurry to find the right costumes Claire finds a very sexy Harley Quinn costume that looks like a bikini and a similar Poison Ivy costume both are beautiful with sparkles and gems. We cash out and as we get into the car our stomachs growl we look at each other and say “Taco Bell!” at the same time and start giggling. We’re talking about the club on the way there “If we get caught I’m telling the cops that you threatened my life if I didn’t go with you!” I say jokingly about the fake ID’s causing us to both start laughing again then she gets serious,”We both need this night.” she says sighing. I know she’s talking about how Jake her now ex-boyfriend cheated on her last month and she’s ready to move on,and how I’m still a virgin because the only boy I ever dated had tried to get me to sleep with him after not even a month of dating and when I refused on my 17th birthday took a girl to my bed and slept with her on it.
We get to Taco Bell around 7:30 and wait in line till our turn “Hi welcome to Taco Bell what can I get you beautiful girls today?” the cashier asks and Claire orders for us “can we get four taco supremes with no tomatoes and two large Pepsi’s please.” I smile as we get our food and sit down each taking two tacos and giggling “this is so good!” I practically moan as I eat my taco and she just nods in agreement with her mouth stuffed full making me giggle some more. We’re done eating and getting in the car when she gets a message “YES! We have a hair and makeup appointment tomorrow at 9pm!”she says as we head to the hair salon to get my ends dyed pink and blue “OMG! You look sexy babe!” Claire squeals when my hairs done and I smile brightly looking in the mirror “Damn I think I might get this style again after it washes out.” I say. We pay and leave finally heading home it’s 9:30 and we’re both ready for bed, she showers first while I brush my teeth and put my hair in a shower cap. Once she’s done we switch and I wash my body and shave, I get out and put lotion on after drying off. I walk into the kitchen and hug Claire kissing her cheek as she does the same to me “I’m going to bed,love you.” I say. “Same,love you too babes.” And off we go to our rooms on opposite sides of our house. I strip out of my night gown laying down smiling excited for tomorrow falling asleep until about noon the next day.
