Chapter 1
Wayo POV
In the United States
I look down and a large masculine hand is holding my hand and pulling me forward. “Babe, let’s hurry or we are going to miss it.” I look up to see a tall man with broad shoulders and I can see very well-defined muscles in his arms and on his back. I don’t recognize him but I feel comfortable with him. It is more than comfortable, I feel a warm sensation and I know that this person is close to me but I can’t place what type of relationship that I have with this person.
As I’m looking up at him, he slowly starts to turn his head.
“Yo, Yo, Wayo are you all right??” The sound of Shane’s voice pulls me back to reality. I feel completely lost and then I realize that I had another vision. I don’t know if I was seeing my future or someone else’s future. I shake my head and pull myself together, but this vision was really strong. Usually, the visions aren’t this strong and clear. I could have sworn that I was actually holding that person’s hand and I think I can even smell his cologne.
“Yo, you had another vision again? Why are you so pale? I have been with you when you have your visions before and I have never seen you get pale like this. Was this one different than your other ones?” I could see Shane’s worry and concern for me, but I didn’t know how to respond.
I had never had this happen before to this extent. Yes, I have had visions from time to time since I was 10 years old and Shane has been there for all of them. Besides my parents, Shane is the only one that knows about them and what they are. My girlfriend doesn’t even know. She has been around me before when it has happened, but she doesn’t know that I was seeing either a past or future event of someone close to me or of myself. The few times that it has happened when I was with her, I told her that I got lost in my own thoughts, which it kind of is so I’m not technically lying. I finally look at Shane and with a shaky voice respond, “Yes, I had another vision, but it was so strong that I think I could even smell his cologne. I have never had that happen before. Why am I having one like that now?”
I run my trembling hand through my hair and let out a sigh. When I look down, even my legs were shaking however, I didn’t feel afraid. It was more of an overwhelming feeling, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. I look back up, “Let’s not worry about it right now. I’m sure that it is nothing. Plus, we still must finish getting packed to go to Thailand tomorrow. Our plane leaves first thing in the morning and we can’t be late. All your bags are here, and I got a text from Rhonda that she is all packed and will be here shortly. So, the only person who hasn’t finish packing is me. Are you excited about going to Thailand with me? Oh, I forgot to tell you that my childhood friend, Ming, also attends the same university. He is a 1st year student but I haven’t seen him since we left Thailand 12 years ago. Dad said that his family will be holding a celebration for us the day after we arrive, so I will introduce you to him.”
“I haven’t gotten any information regarding dorms. Have you heard anything?” Shane seems frustrated, but he doesn’t know that my dad took care of all the arrangements and his staff managed to get our dorm rooms side by side while Rhonda’s dorm was two floors up from ours.
“Don’t worry, Dad has taken care of everything. My only concern is that you and Rhonda haven’t gotten completely fluent with the language yet. Are you going to be all right? You know that I am more than willing to help you since you were nice enough to come with me so I’m not completely alone.” Shane knew that I wasn’t going to leave the United States to follow my dad back to Thailand if it wasn’t for him and Rhonda coming along.
With a cheeky grin, Shane says, “I’m just letting you know that I will be expecting help every day. I’m sure Rhonda is going to be the same so be prepared to tutor us.”
“Oh, I forgot to tell you that we will have a full gym in my dad’s house. So, we won’t need to find a fitness center and Dad said that the house is only 20 minutes from the university.” I give Shane a smirk and he just shakes his head. Shane mumbles under his breath, “It must be nice to be rich.”
Shane and I finish packing and Rhonda comes to the house with her bags. The three of us spend the rest of the night wondering what things will be like and what there will be to do for fun. We were all excited for the unknown and the adventure, but I couldn’t get out of my mind the vision that I had earlier and who was that man. Was he going to be someone important to me in the future?
